From Moslem bashing week, Peak Stupidity smoothly segued into "muh feelings" week for the previous post and this one. This story here is sad, no matter what we think of its protagonist. In this day and age, it IS possible to figure out from GPS devices (with timestamps recorded to go along with position) how long the truck had been there, but I haven't learned this information. If gear jammer Kumar had not just made the stupid move when the car came along, then, well, a professional trucker anyway, would have put on all his lights possible and could have set up some flares even. Alas, even the American drivers are not nearly as professional as when OTR trucking was closer to a profession in the country.* Foreigners given out CDLs like candy are even more dangerous.

There's that hard-to-spell German word, but I don't feel that right now. I am sorry for this woman's loss. I don't think that this one sad lady has learned something here the hardest way I can imagine will change anything, Congressional testimony before the House Judiciary Subcommittee or not. Those who run the Population Replacement Programme don't have anything to learn from poor Elizabeth Carter. They don't need to learn a thing, period - the accident that night on the US-20 is immaterial to their plans.
Now-finally-detained Kumar came into the US at Lukeville, Arizona, and was released by Brandon's and Mayorkas' peaople into the country, but I must add here that this sad story should not be yet another warning about illegal aliens. It makes no difference if these cheap labor imports come to and/or are in (two different possibilities) America legally or not. This quest for cheap labor results in acute tragedy of this type, but there's the long term tragedy of the cheapening of a once decent and pride worthy trucking lifestyle that could support American families. But, yeah, be careful out there among these clueless and dangerous semi drivers.
PS: Hey, wait, the US-20 you say, east of Brothers? The town names on the road and the home town of the young man killed (Dechutes) ring a bell from times long past. I've been everywhere in this here land and traveled that stretch of road westbound on one of my long cross-country trips. This was back when I loved driving.
At Bend, I got on the US-97 north, then on the US-26 west at Madras, then up, up, up, and after picking up some hitchhiking hippie at Government Camp who broke out a joint in the car, then down, down, down, into Portland. I remember picking up some huge pine cones in the Cascade mountains on a stop - can't remember the nearby town anymore...

I know you probably mean Schadenfreude (which isn’t all that hard to spell), but what is more relevant is Weltanschauung.
The problem is that our “leaders” long-ago embraced a Weltanschauung that was hostile to the original principles of the Founders and the folks who built the United States in the runup to the coup that replaced American Patriot William McKinley with pro-London Globalist Teddy Roosevelt, a coup further entrenched by “Progressives” who rammed through the disastrous 16th through 19th Amendments (the only one of which was repealed because the gals realised that the best way to get their way with the guys when dealing with females in political matters is best done when the guys are not fully competent), and it only got worse after that.
Here is the thinking of one infamous historical figure on dealing with a cancerous Weltanschauung:
“Ideas and philosophical systems as well as movements grounded on a definite spiritual foundation, whether true or not, can never be broken by the use of force after a certain stage, except on one condition: namely, that this use of force is in the service of a new idea or WELTANSCHAUUNG which burns with a new flame.”
The problem in the US these days is that there is nobody with leadership with the ability to paint the picture of a brighter US future. It’s the fear of that type of character rising that gets people like Charlie Kirk killed when they start to be obvious.

I'd never looked back at Teddy Roosevelt v McKinley in this way. I did a book report in 4th grade or something, and of course the book put TR in a good light. I'm not in 4th grade anymore, so... yeah.
That 1910s decade was one of the worst periods of instigation of destruction of America, most of it not really coming to fruition until half a century or a whole one later.

One wonders what would have happened to Ron Paul had he gone farther, in, say, 2012. He has good vision, and he's optimistic too. (Too much of the latter, IMO.)
