I don't know. On this blog, Peak Stupidity shows much appreciation for President Trump's work against the Population Replacement Programme. That makes up for about all the stupidity of his personality we've commented on over the years. This latest idea out of his mouth though, Trump Floats $5,000 "Stimmy" Checks For Every US Adult Citizen If GOP Holds Congress, is right up along the top of the graph there.

Oh, yeah, I know, "The Democrats do that too!" Yes, they do. They get the whole Black! Bloc vote, for example, due to "free shit".* Along with all the taxpayer money giveaways, we've discussed Dark Brandon's having tried to bribe college students and graduates with loan forgiveness as a recent example. Then too, Trump was President when those Kung Flu "stimulus" checks came out, stimulating the young people to get up 2 hours later to play video games or spend the day on youtube. That was "different" - we almost all died, so, yeah, a couple of thousand bucks... first, do no harm.

Should we just figure, screw the budget - if the other side plays hardball this way, who are we to worry about the silly deficits and debts and stuff? Plus let's call it a dividend, per Trump, as that sounds a lot more Republican than stimulus check.

I've been thinking about this money. If doling out $5,000 per American adult (go midterms!) is GOOD for the economy, why not make it $10,000? Actually, just, how about $25,000? In some ways, that's an even rounder number. The $5,000 will put the US Gov't only another $1.3 Trillion in the whole. $25,000 will put us $6.5 Trillion farther, so up to about $47 Trillion total in November. As with prices of goods on the shelf, just stay under the next big number and people won't notice. Trump understands this. Bondholders, on the other hand ...

It'll be great. This extra cash will enable Americans to easily pay those higher gas prices, and the higher grocery prices, and higher car insurance and higher rent and building material prices, and higher auto and auto parts prices... This is the way to fight inflation, right? Give people enough money to pay all those higher prices. It's a #WIN/WIN.

After that, we can work on fighting inflation as Trump said he's gonna do. Trump knows what he's doing here, right? His wife Melania, after all, had advertised herself on the internet from eastern Europe as an Economist. Well, sure, that's home economist, as in "homemaker"**, a little bit lost in translation, but still... Gotta say, Trump didn't get his chicks for free either, but money for nothin' should be no problem.

This isn't nearly my favorite Dire Straits song***, musically. The lyrics are really great though. Someone spent a lot of time on the video too, back in the heyday of MTV (mentioned in the song). That's (the Police's) Sting singing the intro and the high backing vocals, and he also shares the writing credit with Mark Knofler.

My favorite verse:
And he's up there, what's that? Hawaiian noises?
He's bangin' on the bongos like a chimpanzee.
That ain't workin', that's the way you do it.
Get your money for nothin', get your chicks for free
Haha!

* Anyone remember the use of the term FSA, the Free Shit Army? Boy, it's been a while - I might resurrect that one here.

** Well, yeah, and she was also a Leggy Super Model. That always helps with the LIKES.

*** From their mid-1980s album Brothers in Arms, which had 3 hit songs at least.
