In Topics:   Immigration Stupidity  History

Peak Stupidity commenter Alarmist has his "boots on the ground" in Europe off and on, so he's commented more than most about the invasion of the continent. (I realize that "the continent", as in "continental breakfast", doesn't include the UK, but sorry, it IS on the continent of Europe geographically.) The Alarmist has commented that the "small boats" that have been invading England, along with everywhere else, should be fired at the stop this immigration invasion, such as has been recently seen in the Spanish town of Cuela. (That invasion is NOT on the continent of Europe, for the record.)
We've used the term "invasion" for mass immigration for years (as has the famous VDare site). In the case of legal immigration, it's not the correct literal term, I suppose. In the case of the illegal Mexicans, Guatemalans, etc. that used to come in a steady trickle that still added up, that's another level up, but unarmed men and often families coming this way was not a literal invasion. The term works though, once you tell people you're talking a half million or a million a year. Then during Dark Brandon's and Allie-hondro Mayorkas' treachery, the influx from strangers around the world could be called, yeah, an invasion, an invited invasion, but an invasion, I'd say.
What do you call this?! Spanish Beach Stormed As Ceuta Chaos Spreads. This invasion is of the Spanish mainland*.
Footage from Cala del Barco near the exclusive La Manga Club in Cartagena captured the moment a large vessel packed with predominantly North African males in their late teens and twenties powered close to shore in broad daylight. The police, mind you. These guys came in boats with 4 big outboards (a ZH commenter mentioned Yamaha LF200XB's, but I'm not sure). The boats dropped them off and went back out. For some reason, the Brits keep dubbing these "small boats". I'd call them landing craft. They are what you use in an amphibious assault.
The men jumped into the water, waded or swam the final metres, and charged inland past stunned sunbathers.
Families packed towels and umbrellas and fled.
One woman was overheard saying "It's a f*****g patera" before urging companions to collect their things and call the police.
In normal times, throughout human history, the very purpose of having governments was for defense of the realm using armies and navies. Has this whole concept been forgotten by the West since World War II or at least the end of the Cold War? (I guess that's what Francis Fukuyama meant by the end of history.)
The foreigners that have been flooding into Europe have come by land or in the landing craft, but there have been no armies firing at them across borders and no navies or shore batteries firing on their boats. This kind of behavior would have been incomprehensible at the Fulda Gap in Germany during the Cold War. In June 1944, 160,000 allied troops landed in ONE DAY on the beaches of Normandy in France, and we know how the Germans fired at them.
On April 2nd of 1982, 550 Argentine troops invaded the British Falkland Islands off the Argentine coast in
Well, nowadays, these Africans and whomever aren't armed with rifles and aren't (nearly!) as organized as were the men in Operation Overlord. It shouldn't be hard to shoot enough of them to persuade more invasion craft and end it. It isn't. ZeroHedge commenters:
Twicesilent: I'm just an ignorant American but does Spain have a navy to defend it's shores?Heh, but it's not the lack of equipment or the manpower though. It's the lack of will. People of the West must get back the will to defend their lands from invasion. That will involve firing at invaders. That thought used to be obvious. One more ZH comment:
Fudge Punch: Pretty much dry docked since 1588.
Honey Badger: The question is, "Does Spain/Europe/EU have the will to defend its/their shores?"Yeah, the comments on ZeroHedge can be a hoot.
Islam conquered Spain beginning in 711 AD... (The last time). Few knew what it looked like because there were only 2 networks back then. Today, we can marvel, in real time, on 100s of channels, what cultural invasion looks like.
I wonder how the apathy and cowardice of today would be viewed by the 'knowledgeable' populace of 711 AD Europe.
I had a fun post in mind for today. This is obviously not that post. I was really busy, so that'll have to come Monday. Thanks for reading and writing in, Peakers. Happy Sunday.
* I had to look it up, but this is not the "Spanish Main" from history but mostly my recollection of an Al Stewart song. The Spanish Main is of the American continents.

PS
Worse than that, the Royal Navy is saling out to greet the “small boats” and taking their occupants aboard and functioning as a water taxi to bring them into the realm.
As for Spain, we might adopt the phrase, “Remember Toledo.” Every. single. time.

As for Spain, one might think that the occupation of their land over many centuries by Moslems and how it happened, would be something in the "racial memory" or something. I blame Government schooling.
