No, but, wait... I don't associate the WNBA with anything sexy. I have neither seen a WNBA game nor seen even more than a 20 second clip of this small sector of the Sportsball "industry" that is a big part of America's Bread & Circuses. I would have no knowledge of anyone who plays in the WNBA, coaches in the WNBA, serves GatorAid™ in the WNBA, or writes about the WNBA, were it not for headlines on my go-to websites over the last couple of years.
I mean, men's basketball is Black! enough to be my least favorite sportsball choice were I to watch any of it. Whether or not to watch big aggressive black women play basketball was an easy call.
However, Americans generally like their sportsball - sometimes it's the subject for about the only small talk one can make, what with the weather being too political now. (See our old post Is sportsball rivalry splitting homes and relationships?* along with Part 1 and Part 2 of What's the matter with Sportsball?)
If you're gonna watch sports, it's natural to want to watch the very best of the players. That's what play-offs, "March Madness", the Superbowl, and so on, are all about. Who would want to watch the women? Their parents would

The news headlines about this Caitlin and now this Sophie have, at least temporarily, spurred some interest by Americans, even me, in the WNBA. It's political interest, though, not interest in the team standings or whose had the most rebounds, or who's dating whom.
Caitlin Clarke is apparently one of the very best players in the league, but the generally black teams, even her own, don't take kindly to some White non-lesbian horning in on their sports niche(s). They don't like the attention she's been getting as a White girl especially, even if it does bring in 10 x the attention and money into the league. (It's that crabs in a bucket thing.) So, they poke her in the eyes, clothesline her, "accidentally" knock her down hard.
It's bad enough for them that the White girl's getting all this attention, but worse, she's not even a lesbian... or it's bad enough for them that a straight girl's getting all this attention, but worse, she's White! Which way is the big problem for the WNBA players has been argued. One Ann Barnhardt, a serious Catholic blogger of some note**, seems pretty sure it's the former - priDEMONth: Let’s cut the crap – WNBA star Caitlin Clark isn’t being regularly assaulted on the court because she’s white; she’s being physically assaulted because she’s HETEROSEXUAL. I took Miss Barnhardt's word for this until I kept seeing headlines all over about "Caitlin's new partner". Are we talking a different Caitlin, the news gal or that guy Bruce, cause the Caitlins are proliferating? (How about we get back to Sallies, Sandras, and Susies? Now that'd be retro!)

What #7 is REALLY concerned about is hair. Hers is fake. Sophie's is real.
Whatever, but now there's a new and cuter White and straight WNBA player in the headlines, one Sophie Cunningham. Yes, she looks pretty nice. What brought her into the headlines was her reactionary stance about the admission of ex-men (h/t, Steve Sailer) into the National Women's Basketball League. We'll get to that particular political gentlewomen's disagreement in the next post, as we'll just note here that this is another White girl gathering attention away from all other players that nobody cares about. (Yes, right, we said it already, the parents and girlfriends.)
The stories of Caitlin and Sophie will die down - Caitlin may get "fatigued" and start a family, and Sophie's choice will likely prevail regarding the ex-men. Then, it'll be business as usual - nobody cares. It's simple why this is the case. Most women are not big sports fans like the guys are. Then, the guys want to watch the BEST players of a sport... EXCEPT, if the women are hot. It's just the game, but tall, muscular, aggressive women, as required by competitive basketball, are not hot.
A lot of men watch women's beach volleyball, at least, so the feminists and women sportball players ought to support this kind of thing...

... and women's pole vaulting. I mean, all jokes aside about women pole vaulters, the men are best at it, as with almost all sports. Why do we watch? Why do the youtube videos of rando young women sprinters and gymnasts get so many views?
(That was THE best "I don't know" ever in 12" diagonal screen B&W cinematic history! The rest of the clip is pretty good too - goes waaaaay back though.)
We don't even care who of these girls wins these 100 yard dashes or what country they hail from. (I am kinda partial to France right now...)
How can a woman get attention in those long baggy shorts and tank tops, when young women sprinters must wear what are basically bikinis nowadays. (Apparently, you can go a LOT faster.) I had a difficult time getting images of "women sprinters in the blocks from behind."

It's to the point where I read*** that youtube is censoring these very popular videos that I used to shamefully view on occasion. I mean, it would keep feeding me new ones, so ... Now, why in the world would youtube want to give up money and ban these? See the Family Ties answer above, or else, I guess Feminism beats profits.
I was able to find the following anyway. This one is a learning video, Female Sprinters Physique explained. Just mute it. We don't need an explanation.
"Sprinting is a great little sport there, if you're looking for a slim body for sure." It's in Australian, but I was able to translate.
If any of you Peak Stupidity readers are offended by this video please chime in. Do please copy a link to your favorite WNBA plays. We'll get to it.... next century.
* Interestingly, the image on top of that nearly 9 y/o post uses the meme of "I don't always drink..." etc. I hadn't known it (the commercials, I guess) were that old.
** Late Lindsey Grahamnesty detractors and American Islam non-acolytes may enjoy the video in Peak Stupidity's old post #123.
*** I've got no link and might not have an easy time searching, but I did read something about this either on youtube itself or elsewhere.

'Busted': Female Bicyclists 'Bulk Up'
“Something strange is happening at the Tour de France Femmes this year.
Several women’s WorldTeams have come forward claiming that some riders are padding their bras during time trials to gain an aerodynamic edge.”

PS: Wow! Now, if Miss Cuningham were allowed to wear that bikini, with her number on it somewhere, wherever it could fit, then they might very well have me tuning into the WNBA after all.
Do you have a link on the brassierial aerodynamics story? Sounds like an enticing story.

Surprised you didn’t go with Bikini Sophie …

BTW, did you see the scandal of women stuffing their bras in the female version of the Tour de France because it improves the aerodynamics of the woman-bike unit?

My understanding of the requirement for the skimpy uniform for running is that a woman wore the exact opposite a few years ago (fully covering, but tight enough to compress some areas) and broke world records while doing so.
On investigation they found that the covering uniform decreased air resistance and allowed the records.
At that point I guess they could have mandated the covering uniform. Instead they went the other way.
Note that for speed skating they went with complete covering for everyone. Probably to reduce frostbite incidence.
To my mind this seems a bit like Formula 1 or NASCAR. Everyone is spending a huge amount of time and money investigating any method to eke out an advantage. So the rulebook gets longer and longer...
