... well, down in Los Angeles County, California, The Gateway Pundit reports, Southern California Police Urge Homeowners to Search Their Yards for Hidden Cameras Planted by Illegal Alien Burglary Rings, Thanks to Gavin Newsom’s Sanctuary State Policies (VIDEO).
Southern California residents are being urged to physically inspect their property after the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department confirmed that organized burglary crews, many tied to illegal South American theft rings, are planting hidden cameras in bushes, flower beds, planters, and landscaping to scout and monitor targeted homes before striking.San Dimas. Spanish name notwithstanding, the place sounds so White. However, that was then. It's not your Daddy's LA anymore, and these are not your Daddy's burglars.
The alarming announcement comes after deputies responding to a residential burglary in San Dimas discovered concealed surveillance devices that were actively feeding live video to criminals.
On Tuesday, San Dimas Sheriff’s Station deputies were called to a home break-in.
While investigating, they located a small camera hidden deep in the bushes directly across from the victim’s residence.
The device was wired to a portable hotspot and an external battery pack, allowing the burglars to remotely watch the home in real time.
Approximately one week earlier, a landscaper working in the same neighborhood found a second identical device concealed in hedges he was trimming.
Both cameras were camouflaged with artificial plants, green tape, and surrounding foliage to blend seamlessly into the yard.

California (and coming to a yard near you) homeowners may have thought the advantage is on their side when it comes to break-ins, what with all the technology there is these days. Nope, but the State, and this country, have imported higher IQ criminals to even things out.

PS: It's very tempting to get all sorts of parts for everything that's built solidly enough to fix. You'll pay more for them later if you need them, or as you're worried about, may never find them again. OTOH, how much storage room to you have, Adam?
My mower is over 30 y/o. Its steel deck has a hole, about 1" by 1 1/2", in it where one motor attachment bolt must have pulled it out somehow. (It's not rusted). I think I should get piece of steel either welded on by my friend or just bolted on in a couple of spots. The motor moves around too much - it doesn't like being held down by only 3 bolts, or maybe 2!

I knew there was a reason I hard-wired all my security crap, not that seeing my home burgled or calling the police would stop anything … only good for insurance purposes, and even then…. My corner of Europe is still blissfully lower crime than the US or UK, but it’s only a matter of time.
My “new” (only 15 years old) lawnmower also has four adjustable wheels… not that I need it much, as we’re having a “heat-wave” … warmer than my Brit colleagues, who are wilting in 80° heat with 65% humidity. As I mentioned in an earlier post, I told them we call that Spring where I come from, though the Daily Mail ran a story about Americans in the UK renting hotel rooms for the A/C… sounds like the Wokesters fleeing Cheetoh Jesus.

I don't know. My mower is the same in that each wheel has to be set separately. But it's also old. It's one of those semi-indestructible Honda HRX217 lawn mowers with the composite deck*. Mrs. Smith bought it years before we met. If it's not 25 years old it is pretty damn close.
*Unfortunately, those composite decks do start cracking and getting brittle in time. Ours is starting to do that. I've been thinking of buying one of these to fix the problem...

Mrs. Smith believes that the mower deck has a lifetime warranty on it and thinks she can get a free one from Honda. (Maybe she's right?) But... Honda stopped making ICE lawnmowers (they're all electric now) and I don't know how much longer I'll be able to buy a new/old stock mower deck for this thing, so I think I should probably just go ahead and buy one of these decks now, while I still can.(?)
Other than the deck starting to crack and crumble, the machine is still in really great shape. I had to do a little extra maintenance this spring, because the self propulsion wasn't working and needed a new cable, but that's about it. (I did change the oil and air filter, and I have a new spark plug for her but the old one is still fine, so I'm running with that.) She's all fixed up now and working great. Even starts on the first pull. (As long as I have the throttle in the right place.)
Because Honda doesn't make these anymore, they do fetch a premium when you can find one in good condition...

PS: More on-topic to this post (though I haven't read/watched your links yet), set your mower to right off the ground occasionally - that might take care of some of those unwanted cameras. (My old one requires setting each of the 4 wheels separately. Do they still make mowers this way?)
