In those first two posts we did some fun calculations to rebut the stupidity of the former Vice President, become Climate know-it-all (he took one class from this one guy in college). The third one had a point that cannot be emphasized enough. We've been told so many times that if we do not save The Planet™ by year N, it's gonna be too late! Year N has passed for many of these predictions, so why don't we just call it? Just get a Climate Coroner, mark The Planet down as dead, and let's get on with our lives.
Next, let us re-introduce Mr. Spock, aka Leonard Nimoy, former Science Officer of the Starfleet Cruiser* Enterprise. With those qualifications, we like to think of him as "America's Science Officer". If a guy who is not a scientist of any sort but still, DOES play one on TV, has something to say about the climate of the whole World, well, I'm here to tell you, people listen.
This still image is from our post linked-to just above, in which we showed two videos, one from Mr. Spock/Nimoy, warning Americans of an Ice Age coming, because the mid-late 1970s had some cold-assed winters. Singer Jimmy Buffett agreed with Mr. Nimoy - on Please Don't Say Manana (if you don't mean it) from his** Son of a Son of a Sailor album - about Buffalo, New York. Mr. Nimoy looks pretty cold in that picture, but keep in mind, coming from the Planet Vulcan and all, any other planet may seem chilly in comparison ... his ears look normal, yes, but that's due to minor surgery after his bout of frostbite up in Buffalo.
Back to the AlGore, as many predictions of his predictions have been proven wrong way past those point-of-know-return deadlines, he has still been a great Climate Calamity stalwart. He has spent a lot of effort, time, and money (some of the Jet-A bills even his own), and inconvenience to teach people the Inconvenient Truth that the Planet has a fever. Dr. Gore has been there to provide the 2 aspirin and listen to its ocean waves in the morning.
What exactly IS his field?
Now, though, "I dunno,...", as ZeroHedge reports that Al Gore Shifts On Global Warming: Time To Watch Out For A New Ice Age?. No, wait, it's not what you think. Dr. Gore has not been wrong in his diagnosis. An Ice Age may be imminent BECAUSE the planet has been warming! See?! No? Well, look:
Former Vice President Al Gore warned a Hollywood audience this week that a "Gulf Stream collapse" could occur within 25 years, leading to an abrupt and devastating new Ice Age.Oh, man, an actor from The West Wing. He's just gotta know a lot about fluid mechanics and thermodynamics!
Mr. Gore, now 78, appeared at the inaugural Sustainability in Entertainment Honors event, co-hosted by The Hollywood Reporter and the Sustainable Entertainment Alliance at Hotel Bel-Air in Los Angeles. He participated in a keynote conversation with actor Bradley Whitford of “The West Wing,” timed to the 20th anniversary of “An Inconvenient Truth.”
Gore invoked the scenario depicted in the 2004 disaster film “The Day After Tomorrow”, saying a shutdown of the Atlantic Meridional Overturning Circulation, commonly called the Gulf Stream, is “a very real threat within the next 25 years.”
“That movie that I mentioned, ‘The Day After’ about the Gulf Stream shutting down, well, this morning in one of the English newspapers is a whole big article summarizing the recent dire warnings of the scientists who found yet more confirmatory information..."
No matter if there were something to this, if these processes were known well enough to have predicted this, why has the population of the world been told that the "Earth has a fever!", "It's Global Boiling now!", or even just calmly that, "you're not gonna like your at the maximum from our models 2C warmer climate 20 years from now"? (It's not like people move down to Florida for the warmer weather. It's for Governor DeSantis, I'd always assumed... ) Why haven't these experts told us that in the medium run, only 25 years from now, the world will be getting a lot colder?! They coulda' warned us of that, at least, right?
I think the problem for these Climate Doomsayers is that people are getting wise to the worthlessness of their alleged "working" mathematical models. Dire predictions have come and gone, yet, the weather is... bad some days, good other days... generally the same-old same-old. Then worse yet, dirty rat Donald Trump had to come along and call the whole thing "the greatest con-job ever perpetrated on the world".*** How can a guy with absolutely no scientific backg...OK, wait...
At this point, the alarmists are pivoting. I think they could have been more creative, to be honest, something about the core of the earth, maybe it's hollow, so stop drilling for oil, maybe we're affecting the sun itself in a deadly feedback loop, pissing off the aliens... something... No, it sounds like this one man known, or should I say, notorious, for his predictions is going back to the 1970s Global Cooling theme.
No, Spock, see, it's that Vulcan mind of yours again! You're not human, so you just don't undestand! This is not Vulcan. Here we have Globalists and Communists.with real, evil, feelings that you wouldn't know about. They are not worried about the planet, Mr. Spock - these are people who want to destroy SOCIETY on this planet. That is THEIR Prime Directive.
I don't know. He was full of it in the 1970s, but, Spock's cold Vulcan logic beats all hell out of the nonsense out of the humans we got here in the future.

I don't know who to believe anymore about the future of the planet, a former Star Fleet Science Officer or a teenage Swedish girl. If it's still acceptable in this day and age, I would really like to see Spock v Greta.Greta's moved on. So has Leonard Nimoy, in a different way, and is not here to say "I told you so". Al Gore has changed his story, but he hasn't moved on and he will still not leave us alone.
