Caltech Cole Allen and his letter home

On The Unz Review here, E.H. Hail inserted what he accurately calls Trump's 2nd* Attempted Assassinator's "light-hearted goodbye letter". Yes, it was hardly a manifesto as we think of one (or trannifesto, something more and more common these days), calling out all the ills of the world and taking up 5 pages in the NY Times.

Mr. Cole, now still in perfectly good health, had written in the middle of this goodbye letter that he didn't expect to be able to talk to the people (family/friends, I guess) he appreciates ever again, "(unless the Secret Service is astoundingly incompetent.)" [His italics.] Yeah, I guess that's another thing that didn't get fixed since Summer of '24. Can we not blame D.I.E. anymore? Who knows? It depends on who's in charge of the SS, and D.I.E. rot can go deep.

The discussion on the UR iSteve Community thread has delved into this guy's background as a student at the well-known tech titan of a school, Caltech, in Pasadena, California. Mr. Hail had more discussion of the massive change in demographics there. In its time, this place was known to accept on the very best of the best of the bright engineering/science geeks, and in fairly small numbers. Was 1/2 black Cole Allen a D.I.E. admission? You've pretty much got to assume so, and I would have written that before the fact too. I'm sure I've explained why it has to be like this before, but the reader couldn't go wrong checking out our 4 y/o 5-part series Harvesting the fruits of a half-century of Affirmative Action: Part 1 - - Part 2 - - Part 3 - -Part 4 and Part 5.

From his assumed goodbye letter, I can see that Mr. Allen is no dummy. His letter is simple and accessible, and it makes sense at least. Rather than spend pages getting deep into a pie-in-the-sky theory of what is wrong with the country that he will fix this day, he spent most of the time thinking about how his family and friend, and even people at the very Correspondents' Dinner itself will fare after he starts firing away. It's pretty well-written, and also, as Mr. Hail noted, light-hearted, for a guy assuming he will be shot dead (YES, barring astounding Secret Service incompetence) within a few minutes. It's also very detail-oriented engineer-like to note the specific problem with security near the end, as if they are "action items" to be dealt with. (The starting of 3 of his points with "Like, " is annoying - if anything that's the real reason he should do some serious time.)

Here's the manifesto letter as Mr. Hail pasted it in. We'll have an important critique of Mr. Allen, not so much his letter, afterwards.

*****************************************
Hello everybody!

So I may have given a lot of people a surprise today. Let me start off by apologizing to everyone whose trust I abused.

I apologize to my parents for saying I had an interview without specifying it was for “Most Wanted.”

I apologize to my colleagues and students for saying I had a personal emergency (by the time anyone reads this, I probably most certainly DO need to go to the ER, but can hardly call that not a self-inflicted status.)

I apologize to all of the people I traveled next to, all the workers who handled my luggage, and all the other non-targeted people at the hotel who I put in danger simply by being near.

I apologize to everyone who was abused and/or murdered before this, to all those who suffered before I was able to attempt this, to all who may still suffer after, regardless of my success or failure.

I don’t expect forgiveness, but if I could have seen any other way to get this close, I would have taken it. Again, my sincere apologies.

On to why I did any of this:

I am a citizen of the United States of America.

What my representatives do reflects on me.

And I am no longer willing to permit a pedophile, rapist, and traitor to coat my hands with his crimes.

(Well, to be completely honest, I was no longer willing a long time ago, but this is the first real opportunity I’ve had to do something about it.)

While I’m discussing this, I’ll also go over my expected rules of engagement (probably in a terrible format, but I’m not military so too bad.)

Follow The Post’s live updates on the shooting at the White House Correspondents’ Dinner

Administration officials (not including Mr. Patel): they are targets, prioritized from highest-ranking to lowest

Secret Service: they are targets only if necessary, and to be incapacitated non-lethally if possible (aka, I hope they’re wearing body armor because center mass with shotguns messes up people who *aren’t*

Hotel Security: not targets if at all possible (aka unless they shoot at me)

Capitol Police: same as Hotel Security

National Guard: same as Hotel Security

Hotel Employees: not targets at all

Guests: not targets at all

In order to minimize casualties I will also be using buckshot rather than slugs (less penetration through walls)

I would still go through most everyone here to get to the targets if it were absolutely necessary (on the basis that most people *chose* to attend a speech by a pedophile, rapist, and traitor, and are thus complicit) but I really hope it doesn’t come to that.’

_______

Rebuttals to objections:

Objection 1: As a Christian, you should turn the other cheek.

Rebuttal: Turning the other cheek is for when you yourself are oppressed. I’m not the person raped in a detention camp. I’m not the fisherman executed without trial. I’m not a schoolkid blown up or a child starved or a teenage girl abused by the many criminals in this administration.

Turning the other cheek when *someone else* is oppressed is not Christian behavior; it is complicity in the oppressor’s crimes.

Objection 2: This is not a convenient time for you to do this.

Rebuttal: I need whoever thinks this way to take a couple minutes and realize that the world isn’t about them. Do you think that when I see someone raped or murdered or abused, I should walk on by because it would be “inconvenient” for people who aren’t the victim?

This was the best timing and chance of success I could come up with.

Objection 3: You didn’t get them all.

Rebuttal: Gotta start somewhere.

Objection 4: As a half-black, half-white person, you shouldn’t be the one doing this.

Rebuttal: I don’t see anyone else picking up the slack

Objection 5: Yield unto Caesar what is Caesar’s.

Rebuttal: The United States of America are ruled by the law, not by any one or several people. In so far as representatives and judges do not follow the law, no one is required to yield them anything so unlawfully ordered.

__________

I would also like to extend my appreciation to a great many people since I will not be likely to be able to talk with them again (unless the Secret Service is astoundingly incompetent.)

Thank you to my family, both personal and church, for your love over these 31 years.

Thank you to my friends, for your companionship over many years.

Thank you to my colleagues over many jobs, for your positivity and professionalism.

Thank you to my students for your enthusiasm and love of learning.

Thank you to the many acquaintances I’ve met, in person and online, for short interactions and long-term relationships, for your perspectives and inspiration.

Thank you all for everything.

Sincerely,

Cole “coldForce” “Friendly Federal Assassin” Allen

___________

PS: Ok now that all the sappy stuff is done, what the hell is the Secret Service doing? Sorry, gonna rant a bit here and drop the formal tone.

Like, I expected security cameras at every bend, bugged hotel rooms, armed agents every 10 feet, metal detectors out the wazoo.

What I got (who knows, maybe they’re pranking me!) is nothing.

No damn security.

Not in transport.

Not in the hotel.

Not in the event.

Like, the one thing that I immediately noticed walking into the hotel is the sense of arrogance.

I walk in with multiple weapons and not a single person there considers the possibility that I could be a threat.

The security at the event is all outside, focused on protestors and current arrivals, because apparently no one thought about what happens if someone checks in the day before.

Like, this level of incompetence is insane, and I very sincerely hope it’s corrected by the time this country gets actually competent leadership again.

Like, if I was an Iranian agent, instead of an American citizen, I could have brought a damn Ma Deuce in here and no one would have noticed shit.

Actually insane.

Oh and if anyone is curious is how doing something like feels: it’s awful. I want to throw up; I want to cry for all the things I wanted to do and never will, for all the people whose trust this betrays; I experience rage thinking about everything this administration has done.

Can’t really recommend it! Stay in school, kids.
*****************************************

I can see from the arc of his life that Mr. Allen did have a better time in school. It seems like things went only downhill from there, well before he walked toward the black-tie dinner with his gun yesterday.

Like, besides explaining why he in particular was to take this action, considering he's (1) a Christian, (2) at the prime of his life (best he could do, I guess), (3) only getting a few of the bad guys, (4) half-black (WTH? Is that an admission that black people aren't Americans?) (5) not allegedly following Matthew 22, Mr. Allen's entire explanation is very short. It is that "administration officials" (not including Kash Patel of the FBI for some reason), are targets, along with people who came to watch the speech, because Trump is a pedophile, rapist, and traitor. He did flesh this out just a little, giving us more of clue, with:
I’m not the person raped in a detention camp. I’m not the fisherman executed without trial. I’m not a schoolkid blown up or a child starved or a teenage girl abused by the many criminals in this administration.
The first example is about illegal aliens being deported, I assume. The second is about the boats being blown up in international waters - I don't disagree in principle. The third one is about Iran or Gaza. The "teenage girl" part is about Epstein.

Let me make a quick odd digression here about a university student/friend who is the only guy I knowingly know who attended Caltech. He had just told me and my friend he'd been admitted to grad school there as we sat outside our university building. As he was bringing in his bicycle, we talked about this light racing bike, and he noted how even the higher pressure in those tires added significant weight. Me and my friend looked at each other. Uh, nah, as he went inside me and my friend realized that this guy might have his head in the right clouds, but he was not so… common-sensical.

Let me just do it now, without looking anything up. Because I still remember that the density of air is roughly 1/1000 of water, and that water weighs 62 lb/ft, you could take that 27 in diameter wheel and generously 1 1/2 in2 tire inside cross-sectional area, then even at 8x atmospheric pressure*, I get about 1/20 lb more weight, so with 2 tires, that’s 1/10 lb or 1 1/2 oz. He’d be doing just as good cutting his toe-nails before he rides to save weight. (Let us know.)

I can safely assume that our White friend was a brighter guy, but I'll make the assumption that Cole Allen was at least something of a geek. He's 31 years old, but I don't think he has the common sense it takes to see the forest for the trees. Cole Allen is just one example to show us that geekiness and common-sense do not go hand-in-hand. Then, most people with common sense do already know this.

Yes, Trump is doing a lot of harm with this Iran war. I hate that he started it, and I hope he finds a way to stop it. That's not just on behalf of Iranians, who generally don't deserve this, but on behalf of Americans, who are losing out on the ONE GUY who has been making headway in Job #1 due to his distractedness and loss of political capital. As for Venezuelan "boaters" on the high seas, principles would say this is wrong, but they ARE probably drug runners. So many US Constitutional principles have been violated on a regular basis in my lifetime, that this is small potatoes.

Epstein? Really? As I've written here before, IT'S NOT ABOUT THE GIRLS! It's about the blackmail. If Mr. Allen had some knowledge we don't have about, say, Epstein Island blackmail is related to Trump's waging war on Iran, well, come out and say it! Barring astounding incompetence by the SS, you'll be dead anyway shortly, right?

This could be called "what-aboutism", but it's not like there haven't been more extra-judicial assassinations and wars wages by other Presidents since (generally) the end of the Cold War (marking the beginning of America's status of "Sole Superpower"). Bai Dien was the guy who received $millions through his son for working for one group of Ukrainians and was prone to blackmail by the Chinese for his son's other activities with underage girls inside the now other competing superpower. Bill Clinton started wars and his alleged wife started others as Secretary of State under Obama. With the Bushes, it was the same story.

Lastly, but out of order here, if you are a sucker for the sob stories about the illegal aliens, most of them deported so far being just the violent ones who've raped and killed, themselves, you've been a sucker for the Legacy Media.

If you really want to get down to it, go get the Globalists who are really in charge. Maybe security at Bilderberg, the WEF all-hands meetings, and what was that poorly publicized meeting they just had in the US, is not so astoundingly competent either.

Very bright people often lack common sense and the big picture. Some, say the Uni-Bomber Ted Kaczynski, do (did) really get into the big picture, seeing far ahead the problems with the scary new technology coming. He wrote a long manifesto, not a goodbye letter (he might not have ever been ID'd but for his brother). What was his bright solution? Sending letter bombs that blew off fingers of recipients, intended- or non-intended, at various universities.

Ted Kaczynski was around before the anti-Social Media, the very type of thing he was warning us about. Cole Allen, OTOH, in the modern world, sounds like he's been nothing but a sucker for the latest bitching by people on TikTok or Blue Sky. He does not see the big picture, and he doesn't have the common sense to see that killing President Trump would not solve the problems he sees.

On a lighter note, per Mr. Hail, our old commenter** Anti-Gnostic - on the Steve Sailer substack site - calls this wannabe assassin the International Man of Mystery Meat. Nicely done, AG!

* The guy found in the bushes with a rifle at the golf course Trump was playing in Florida, two months after the Butler, Pennsylvania attempt could easily be counted as #2. One way to count them is based on shots fired or weapons actually used. Perhaps there are some clarifying definitions somewhere.

** He commented here for about 4 months starting in early '22.

PS: You are quite right, PM. Don't know why I got myself to thinking IAD is in the city of Washington. It wouldn't fit! Yes, so, maybe the guy wanted to think about things on his long train ride. That's a long time to change one's mind, yet he never did.

It's not like someone trying not to leave any trail, who might figure his possession of the shotgun would be unknown until... but he was like one of Steve Sailer's typical White mass shooters - didn't plan on coming home.

The manifesto by the Charlie Kirk shooter has been brought up in connection with the Cole Allen manifesto. The Charlie Kirk shooter's manifesto was very low-effort and almost frivolous.

People have been making good points that the people who do this tend to approach it like a video-game, and the ironic culture of video-gaming influenced also their manifesto writing.

This is a natural point to make because Cole Allen himself was an aspiring video-game developer and did release a game a very years ago.

The bigger point is there is a lack of connection with reality. In the pre-digital age, you kind of had to think through things a lot more. In our time, you can be digitally distracted every free hour of every day. Deep thinking isn't necessary, and everything's a bit unserious and ironic.

Mr. Hail, ethnically they are in "their camp", but in no other way are they or were they. Steven Miller sounds like an American patriot - he was raising hell about the mass Hispanic influx in HS - though I don't know too much about his Iran war stance. To keep his position he's got to go along with Trump to some degree. If he got canned, I'm not sure if the deportation nation program would completely stall out.

Re: Adam Smith's findings on the Stephen Miller flyer campaign

The flyer campaign was/is to the effect of:

"Attention, fellow patriotic Americans! There is a DANGEROUS NEO-NAZI living unmolested not far from here. His name is Stephen Miller. He is evil. Here is the NEO-NAZI Stephen Miller's home address. Feel free to pay him repeated unfriendly visits! Tell him his NEO-NAZI racial-oppression ideology and other evil deeds are WRONG and unwelcome."

So the mastermind was a "Barbara Wien"?

It can't be likely that Barbara Wien herself plastered up all those thousands of posters, all over the region. That kind of work/activism is far more suited to young men.

In any case, there is a good chance that Barbara Wien, the anti-Stephen Miller intimidation campaign organizer, is eligible for dual-citizenship with Israel.

Since Stephen Miller is also of that orientation, and since there were elements of the anti-Stephen Miller campaign that insinuate he is disloyal to God's Chosen Ethnic Group (a Jew who becomes a NEO-NAZI), we see some internal divisions in their camp shining through.

More seriously though... At this point in the decline and fall of the economic zone formerly known as America, so-called "government" employees should consider themselves extremely lucky that all they have to endure is some posters with their addresses on them and some lighthearted sidewalk chalking.

From CNN:

"On X, Allen appeared to post largely about video games in 2022, encouraging users to check out his YouTube channel, which featured dozens of short videos about the popular Nintendo game Super Smash Bros. before the account was taken down.

By 2024, archived tweets show him resharing political content from other users. Allen repeatedly retweeted posts on X comparing Trump to Hitler, as well as a post advocating for nullifying that year’s election results. In the wake of the attempted assassination of Trump in Butler, Pennsylvania, Allen retweeted posts baselessly speculating that the attack could have been staged..."

Cole Allen chose one of the hardest targets possible for this kind of act. That he got relatively close may by a message to others they can realistically do it against a softer target.

There was a guy arrested for plastering thousands of posters around in public areas with the home address of Stephen Miller, urging people who are against fascism, racism, and evil to go over and have an angry chat with Miller and family at home.

You'd figure, though, that the SS would think of that and close off some doors to arrange it such that hotel guests still have to to around to some check point a little farther from the actual dining room.

You do have to be careful, as if you get diverted to say, New York, they could give you a hard time if you grab your gun case there (there was an NRA story on this) Possibly, he was worried about landing at Washington (Reagan or Dulles) and having trouble. I don't know though. Did he want to bring more than the allowed 11 lb of ammo? You wouldn't think.
