… to that same old place now, Sweet Home Chiclayo…. [that ubiquitous descending chromatic blues riff]

Peak Stupidity has been onto this guy who calls himself Leo XIV almost since he got selected by some Cardinaltards a year ago. Our post last October with some background about this Robert Prevost was entitled Meet the new Pope... same as the old Pope.. . (We can’t put that great Who song in every post though.)

This guy and the last guy, so-called Pope Francis, are and were, respectively, both Liberation Theologists, which are kindler and gentler Communists, but Communists just the same. What I’m sure a lot of people don’t know about him, even many Catholics, is that Leo Prevost grew up in Chicago, the one in Illinois, but he spent half his adult life in place called Chiclayo, which, though sounding like Chicago, is NOT in Illinois but in Peru… and not the Peru in Indiana either.

Unless it was about the Iran War, which will hopefully be ended one way or another real soon, any Trump “Truth Socials”, texts, or other wild and crazy remarks directed at Pope Leo XIV are likely ones I’d agree with. Back off, Pope! Any talk of yours supporting the Climate Calamity con-job and the Population Replacement Programme come from your Liberation Theologist Communist background - I know what you’re up to. We know where your sympathies lie and where’s your home at heart. It’s that same old place …

Come on.
Baby don't you wanna go?
Come on.
Baby don't you wanna go?
Back to that same old place,
that sweet home Chiclayo.

Well, 1 and 1 is 2
and 6 and 6 is 8.
Down in old Chiclayo they don’t teach that math too great,

Come on.
Baby don't you wanna go?
Come on.
Baby don't you wanna go
to that same old place,
sweet home Chiclayo?

Say 2 and 2 is 5,
if you wanna stay alive.
They might add up to 3 in that Liberation Theology...

Come on.
Leo don't you wanna go?
Come on.
Leo don't you wanna go
to that same old place, now,
sweet home Chiclayo?

Well, 14 mod 4 is 2,
and 2 to the 3rd is 8.
Come on baby, now don't be la …
[sound of guitar being smashed]
I told you blokes, I won’t put up with these bloody geeks in my band! What, Elvis who?!

I know this is an old black blues number, by the famous and somewhat mythical* Robert Johnson. So what? This 1970s White band out of England named Foghat played it better. The two White Blues Brothers, Jake and Elwood, did a fine job on this number with the band they’d just put back together too, with the movie set in Chicagoland at that.

I’m just attached to this version, from Foghat’s 1978 album Stone Blue - When I was stone blue, rock & roll sure helped me through … What was that deal, mostly a decade earlier, with all those skinny English White kids playing blues better than the old black men of the Mississippi delta?

Foghat were:

Dave Peverett - rhythm guitar, vocals
Rod Price - lead guitar, slide guitar
Craig MacGregor - bass guitar
Roger Earl - drums

* Did he really sell his soul to the devil in return for being able to play a mean guitar? He should have asked the devil to make him White too. You gots ta learn the art of the deal.
