Fun with AI

Peak Stupidity, for one, is glad that Bing's "Copilot" AI search software has been promoting this site with blurbs and images. Many times, I can tell that the blurbs were spit out directly from a software perusal of our "About" page, as it were.*

Here's one blurb I came upon - it seems device-dependent. This is some GREAT advertising! Girls sell. Girls' rear-ends sell. It's just too bad that when anyone who is not privileged to be on the Peak Stupidity staff clicks on it, he will never see those college girls without lucking out and getting somehow to our post Peak Stupidity University Sociological Observations versus Theory.

You'll end up here though... so there's that...

... and if you haven't yet seen the Lion Sleeps Tonight AI animation feature, well, you have been missing out. Our President Trump even enjoyed it... before he took it off his Truth Social account, cause, racism?

I'm hoping Adam Smith can come through as he always does and find a video I can embed - I tried youtube and rumble but I only got loads of different people TALKING about the video… and Adam has come through. Here's the part they're generally talking about video:

Well, yeah, I can see why some people think this or that, but have they watched the whole thing? Many different enemies of Trump, hence, America are shown as various jungle (and Savannah, don't forget Savannah!) creatures. Tough call on the racism.

Something about Trump's having at least passed this one on makes me wonder how much the Øb☭mas are still our enemies. They say that the Dark Brandon administration was just Øb☭ma's 3rd term. He doesn't seem like he has the energy or cares enough, but they say... Then, there's the one we like to call Big Mike. OK, she's just big-boned, but she sure IS an enemy of the White man.

Nah, let's not all gang up on the President for what's just a fun video. President Trump is just the King of Forwards, of AI videos rather than joke emails.

The song here, one Americans might know as The Lion Sleeps Tonight, was originally named Mbube, written by one Solomon Linda, a black (Zulu) S. African. Back in the 1930s, it became a big hit there. Everyone liked it, black, White, or coloured, striped or spotted. Then, the American folk singer and Communist Pete Singer transcribed the song from Zulu to English and his The Weavers released the song as the Wimoweh song. Next, the American band combo (back then) The Tokens, 4 White guys, released this song as the “B side” of a single record, and it went to the Billboard magazine #1 spot in 1961.

The song has been featured elsewhere, but the mid-1990s Disney Lion King movie was its biggest exposure to people - lots of kids - most who’d likely not have heard it, 3-4 decades after its release. There was a Lion King remake in ‘19, but remakes generally suck, so… This video above could be the first time people under 30 y/o have heard the song.

I only bothered writing all that about the song because, well, we got a real problem here! The Wimoweh song has such a catchy tune that I found myself whistling it after watching the video. Now people are are going to assume that anyone whistling or singing the song has recently watched “that racist video”. So, readers, watch what you whistle, or whom you whistle around. I foresee shootings.

Lastly, I read something today regarding more of the extreme Orwellian AND Anarcho-Tyrannic (Orwanicho-Tyranny?) going on in the UK. That's a subject for more posts to come, but the character named Amelia came up. She's a Playing Character vs a Non-Playing Character, whatever that means, I don't care.** Purple-haired Amelia was the bad guy in a UK Government created video game, Pathways (ahhh, geeze!) designed to get British people to quit trying to think for themselves and quit opposing the Government that is replacing them.

The gamer folks or some youtubers have now made many AI videos featuring a different, MUCH hotter purple-haired, revealing-pink-dress-wearing Amelia who, just as she was in the Government video, LOVES the UK and the British people. The Amelia videos are probably multiplying faster than youtube can suggest them.

This one is called I Will Always Leave You:

Oh, what can I say! I'm in love with an AI chick. Here's another, Sun All Year Round:

No, I mean, I just love her for her politics, that's... like ... all.

This world is getting Science Fictioney a whole lot faster than I'd ever thought it would or could. This above is all computer graphics. However, when these geeks and engineers get the right materials, sensor arrays and combine it with all the computing power that's already around, I can imagine an AI sex robot like Amelia that will be an introduction to pretty much the end of humanity. Will the AI robots have sex with each other? Will they like it?

Thanks for reading this week, Peakers, oh, and watching. We'll get into that year-ago DCA airport crash for sure and there'll be more on that Magic Dirt/Tragic Dirt stupidity along with the religious aspect of that wrt Mike DeWine and the Haitians. (Unfortunately NOT just a Rock & Roll band.)

PS: I titled this post Fun with AI well before I noticed that was the title of the video.

[UPDATED 02/07 late:]
Substituted the Lion Sleeps video in for the still picture. Thank you, Adam Smith. Added 2 paragraphs about the song, and one as a warning. Added the short PS.

Added more about Pathways, the game, not video, and a link to an old post about video games. Oh, and it’s PURPLE hair, but she wears pink. (I guess that was an obvious mistake.)

PS: From Adam’s link:

“Although many Canadians claim to know people from Manitoba, Burton reassured everyone that those were just crisis actors. An astonished member of the press stood up and said he just tried calling his Aunt Eileen who lived in Winkler, MB, only to discover the number had been disconnected.

When asked how the government could explain those who visited Manitoba, Burton informed them that when they thought they were in the made up province they were in fact just in a part of Northern Ontario with very bad lighting. “

PS: "Hey... Have you ever been to Manitoba?" Yes, actually. I almost forgot that I stayed in Winnipeg one night. Other than that, I've been to British Columbia, Ontario, Quebec, Nova Scotia, and PEI, but not very far into those non-Maritime big provinces.

PS: Hey, Adam. I just read your conversation with the Gemini software. I think you won the argument so it should just shut itself down. One of its 3 arguments for existing is that it can help model the climate? Ahhh, geeeze!

Anyway, I thought, did it mean Manitoba has the same population as N. Carolina? Nah, I should have known, NC has nearly 10x the population of Manitoba. It just made a mistake. Hopefully something like that doesn’t happen during surgery …

Much like Ron Unz, Gemini tends to get a little wordy but I tried to keep it short(ish). Apparently, the AI experiment is using an enormous amount of energy and water to essentially power a fancy calculator that fails at basic math and can't even draw a picture of Dernald Blumf sitting near a watermelon anymore.

PS
So I read in the FAZ (German paper of record!) in the rather feminized culture-section today that the "Obama-video" was deleted by the TRump-administration.

Frauke Steffens quotes the republican Senator Tim Scott "praying that this video is fake" (meaning not posted by the Trump admin) because if not - it is "the most racist thing I have ever seen coming out of the White House".
BOING!

Frauke Steffens goes on: Trump's MAGA movement consistas of white Americans, who adhere to the racial hierarchy of the US and don't want to give it up. They achingly accept Blacks as athletes, workeres and musicians, but not as people with political power."
Boing, boing!

And - - Frauke Steffens goes on in that vein - and on - - and on - - -

A nice day everybody!

PS: Hello again, Adam. I guess there’s a lot of fun stuff to play around with in those games - I do know OF GTA, at least. It sounds like a physics simulator, I’d say open source, but I guess you (no, OK, not YOU, Adam!) have to pay for the game. Don’t know how accurate the physics match reality, but it can’t be worse than Climate Modeling. ;-}

For me, I just like the intense type of games that rely on speed, both of the fingers and of that part of the mind. The rules are simple, and they don’t change. I will check out your free Asteroids link. Thanks again for that.

𝐼 𝑡𝑎𝑘𝑒 𝑖𝑡 𝑦𝑜𝑢 𝑤𝑎𝑛𝑡 𝑡𝑜 𝑝𝑙𝑎𝑦 𝑡ℎ𝑖𝑠 𝑔𝑎𝑚𝑒 𝑚𝑜𝑠𝑡𝑙𝑦 𝑡𝑜 𝑠𝑒𝑒 𝑡ℎ𝑒 𝑂𝑟𝑤𝑒𝑙𝑙𝑖𝑎𝑛 𝑤𝑎𝑦𝑠 𝑜𝑓 𝑡ℎ𝑒 𝑈𝐾 𝐺𝑜𝑣𝑒𝑟𝑛𝑚𝑒𝑛𝑡?

I played the game just to see what all the excitement was about.
I downloaded a local copy because I'm a collector of sorts.

It's a very short game and easy to play. It really doesn't matter if you choose the right path or the wrong path. (Other than the red green meter thing.) Any way you play the game, Charlie (they/them) ends up in therapy to learn how to not be an extremist. (Extremist in this case means pro-white and anti-immigrant.)

https://www.shoutoutuk.org/gamepw/story.html

It's silly, but it's worth playing once if you have nothing better to do. (We all have something better to do.)

“𝑉𝑖𝑑𝑒𝑜 𝐺𝑎𝑚𝑒𝑠, 𝑔𝑟𝑒𝑎𝑡 𝑎𝑛𝑑 𝑠𝑡𝑢𝑝𝑖𝑑”

I haven't really played video games since GTA Vice City. And after a day I got bored playing it. I did, however, really enjoy hacking it apart and changing it. I used to load new vehicles and buildings into the game. I was never good at modeling but I got pretty good at doing texture art. Mapping came easy to me too. (Mapping meaning placing permanent objects in the 3d world.) I'd twist the game engine in every direction I could sometimes taking it over the edge to the point it would break.

The game engine had multipliers that controlled all the "physics" in the artificial world. Things like vehicle weight, tire traction (one time I turned up the traction multiplier so high that I could drive up the walls of skyscrapers), top speed, etc. for each vehicle.

You could control things like how hard the character could punch people (sending them flying over building if you cranked the multiplier up a bit) or how much destruction each weapon would do.

Somehow I programmed the game to lock the doors of any car I got into (as well as make the car very heavy, very fast and indestructible) so when the cops tried to take me out of the car they couldn't. Door was locked. It was silly though. The game engine was programmed so the cops would remove you from the vehicle and arrest you or fight you. When the door was locked they would try to open the door and then just stand there when it wouldn't open. It was like there was no code to deal with such a situation so they literally didn't do anything once they reached the end of their programming.

At one point I put the Liberty City game on the Vice City game engine so I had a different map to tinker with. I even loaded a World Trade Center complex model into the game on an island off the coast of Miami.

Yeah. I wasted many hours reprogramming that stupid game.

PS: “A wake ‘em up, a wake ‘em up”. Pretty clever. I don’t think I ever heard that one at the time in question, Alarmist.

They say “you ain’t just whistling Dixie”. “Nope, I’m gonna sing it too.” Really, you don’t want that - nobody in my family sings well, or has even tried to.

You’ll understand this easily, Alarmist, but the Corporate PTB had decided that saying “Dixie” for the taxiway (It’s not a major one) and concourse D at the Hartsfield airport is a big no-no, cause… THE SOUTH? Fuck ‘em on that one.

There’s a real reason for that use. “Delta”, as you know, is the phonetic alphabet substitution for the letter D. Yet Delta planes dominate the place (maybe 80%), so saying “Delta” for a taxiway could be confusing. Then, if you tell someone that his gate is in the “Delta Concourse”, well that’s even more confusing. “Oh, where the Delta flights are?” No, they’re on every concourse. Atlanta is in the South. Hello!!

Rant over.

PS: Good afternoon, Mr. Alarmist!

It's a bit chilly and pleasantly sunny out there this morning. Accuweather tells me it's ~30° but the cat's water isn't frozen. It does look like it will be pretty nice though with a high around 52° this afternoon. (They're predicting 68° for Tuesday.🙂)

I was planning on posting the 𝐶𝑎𝑝𝑖𝑡𝑜𝑙 𝑆𝑡𝑒𝑝𝑠 song you mentioned. Unfortunately, this file is a little hard to find on the interwebs and, as you can see from the screenshot above, the file download has stalled at 34%. (It might come in if I leave it long enough. Might not. I guess we'll find out.)

Dixie, on the other hand, has about a thousand different versions available on YouTube.

(Anyway...)

Good morning to you too.
I hope you have a wonderful Sunday! ☮️

PS

It’s morning in America, and it’s looking mighty cold from this side of the pond. Hope you are all staying warm.

The Capitol Steps, a political song-parody troupe in the ‘80s and beyond, did a remake of that song about a little kerfuffle in Central America on Mr. Reagan’s watch, and it started out like this…

🎶
In the jungle
There’s been a bungle
While Reagan sleeps tonight.
In Honduras
Some Army tourists
Have gotten in a fight.

A wake him up!
A wake him up!
A wake him up!
A wake him up!
A wake him up!
A wake him up!

etc
🎶

Of course they’re going to shout rayciss … it’s how they fight.

BTW, I still occasionally whistle Dixie. In my corner of Europe it gets a bemused look. In London, the reaction is stronger because, something something, racism.

The UK, BTW, is the country that supported the CSA to a great degree in an attempt to break the USA apart and again thoroughly dominate North America. Our Russian friends sent their fleets to San Francisco and New York to politely tell the Limeys to stay away. The Brits are not our friends. Never have been.

Here's a link to the "pathways" game...
