Apparently the Covid-19 Flu Manchu plandemic is NOT over!

An important speaker at the UN, that’s The United (Federation of) Nations, has informed the World of this. Miss Violet Affleck, daughter of some important Hollywood people, stood up wearing a Home Depot N-95 face mask and pleaded with you people, you deniers of THE SCIENCE & HOLLYWOOD, to help make a world in which “we can recognize unfiltered air as a human right.”
“We are told by leaders across the board that we are the future,” Affleck said. “But when it comes to the ongoing pandemic, our present is being stolen right in front of our eyes.”

The teen was panicked over people who no longer take precautions against the spread of the virus, lamenting “the relentless beat of back to normal, ignoring, downplaying, and concealing both the prevalence of airborne transmission and the threat of long COVID.”
"Ongoing"? Yeah, like the common cold is ongoing, sure... And, "the teen"? Another teenage girl. This Violet Affleck piece of work is attempting to become Greta 2.0.

I didn't like 1.0, and she was kind of cute, and she could sail. What does Violet Affleck have going for her? First thing, I'd lose the glasses, the [some non-White guy] "Power" T-shirt, and the Home Depot mask, unless I were a surprise guest on the Home & Garden TV channel installing Owens-Corning batting under the house.

See, now Greta has ridden what I sorely hope was the peak of the Climate Calamity™ hoax*. (At that same conclave at the UN, BTW, President Donald Trump, among other things, demeaned the whole Global Boiling* programme as "the greatest con job in the world". You just gotta like that guy... most of the time, and he was right on the money there.) Greta was in the right place at the right time with the right line: "How dare you?!" In the future, she'll be known as "Hey, you're that 'How dare you?!' chick. Can I get a selfie with you?"

So far I haven't heard any really good lines out of this Violet chick. I mean both her parents are actors**, so this shouldn't be difficult. Upon reading further in the Daily Wire article linked-to above, I see she could use a different screenwriter:
“Here’s what we know about SARS-CoV-2,” she went on. “It is airborne, floating and lingering in the air, one infection can result in disabling damage to almost every cell in the body from the brain and heart to the nerves and blood vessels.”

“Every subsequent infection increases the risk of long movement and places people who already have it in greater danger.”

Affleck also said she’s “terrified” for children who “will not know a world without debilitating pain and exhaustion, who cannot trust their bodies to play, explore, and imagine” after contracting the virus.
It's astounding!...
... Time is fleeting.
Madness takes its toll.
But listen closely,
not for very much longer.
I've got to keep control.

[Loud guitars!!]

I remember doing the Time Warp,
drinking those moments when
the blackness would hit me,
and the voice would be calling...
Let's do the time warp again!

I hope all readers of this blog understand at this point where our name comes from. If you can't figure it out from this post... well, the United Nations could really use a guy like you, Joel girl like you, Violet. Violet Aflac is stupidity incarnate. Remember, if it looks like a duck and it quacks like a duck, it's an Affleck, "quack, quack."

Ha! The White guy and the black guy are equally clueless. The duck is the smart guy. This must be a really old commercial ... oh, I see. 2000.

PS: I got to this story from the Instapundit. Professor Glenn Reynolds called this Profiles of Insanity. Not quite - to match the JFK Sr. book, it should be Profiles in Insanity.

PPS: I seriously thought we wouldn't need to attach that Kung Flu Stupidity topic key to any more of our posts here at Peak Stupidity. I mean, it's been 5 1/2 years. Most of us have learned a thing or two...

PPPS: Insane Hollywood people out of the UN! US out of the UN! UN out of the US! Hollywood out of the US! Insane people out of the US! (Alex Jones can stay.) Join the John Birch Society!

* Hey, listen, I don't make this stuff up. The term Global Boiling has been used by the very Secretary General of the UN himself, one Antonio Guterres. Actually, he might only be Assistant TO the Secretary General, but still... See Global Boiling - turning up the Climate Calamity™ to HIGH.

** I've seen movies with Ben Affleck in them, but I looked up this Jennifer Garner - I've not seen a one of hers.

PS: Thanks for the tedious* work, Adam.

For SafeNow, was that picture to be embedded in that UR comment of yours. My feeling is, since Mr. Unz admitted that some comments had been lost, what happened to yours was purely from a bug, not purposeful censorship. If you look pretty near the bottom of that "Bugs & Suggestions" thread on the site, you'll see discussion on this. I even had a comment reinstated that I had trashed myself. (It was something just now worth saying, so I'd erased it early in the 5 minutes of that EDIT window. I reappeared!)

Was this a few days ago, SafeNow?

* That is, unless you used some character recog. software or found a tweet or what have you with copyable text.

Mr. Moderator,

Here you are...

Violet Affleck is a Yale student who has gained attention for her intellect, activism and advocacy for public health and climate issues. Though the daughter of actors Ben Affleck and Jennifer Garner, she has carved her own path outside of Hollywood.

What Violet Affleck has going for her:

• Intellectual rigor: A student at Yale University, Affleck is noted for her sharp mind. In May 2025, she published a research paper in the Yale Global Health Review that compared the response to the COVID-19 pandemic with that of the Los Angeles wildfires, arguing that society should apply lessons from one crisis to another.

• Passionate public health advocacy: Affleck has become a strong and thoughtful advocate for public health. Speaking at the United Nations in September 2025, she called for greater investment in clean air infrastructure and universal access to masks to prevent th long term effects of COVID-19. in 2024, she spoke before the Los Angeles County Board of Supervisors to oppose mask bans and advocate for better health measures.

• Experience-driven conviction: Her advocacy is rooted in personal experience. Affleck has publicly shared that she contracted a post-viral condition in 2019, which gave her firsthand insight into the long-term consequences of even minor viruses.

• Early activism for privacy: As a child, she was instrumental in her parents' fight for "anti-paparazzi" legislation in California. At just 8 years old, she testified about her experience of being relentlessly hounded by photographers, which helped pave the way for a 2013 law that protected celebrity children from being photographed without consent.

• A strong sense of self: Affleck was raised with her privacy guarded by her parents, limiting her exposure to social media and the public eye. Her mother, Jennifer Garner, has described her as a "self-starter" and "hyper-articulate".

• A voice for her generation: She has used her public platform to express a sense of disappointment in how leaders have handled the ongoing pandemic, voicing concerns that her generation's "present is being stolen right in front of our eyes."

Because so called "COVID" was always just the common cold and flu rebranded as the most sinister of viruses.

I had a proposed comment moderated-out on TUR. This was a first for me. I had tried to inform readers that Hanan Issa had been made “The National Poet” of - - of all places - - Wales. This appointment is significant…for the obvious reasons. Just ask Paul Craig Roberts. Why was this deemed too much…in Ron’s parlance..unhinged, deranged, wild-eyed. So, I will post the above here, where it will not be seen as too incendiary to see the light of day. Hey, I really enjoyed that post on the demise of salad bars…no sarcasm…we can talk about anything.

PS: "Who on earth would feel heat for Violet? " Hopefully, she can grow up and maybe it will change for her. (I saw a picture of her mother in that scene in "Catch Me If You Can". Yes, some heat, I could see that...

PS
Violet reminded me that I once read this: In any great new man/woman relationship, the man must feel “heat” ..because without “heat,” what he’s got is just a very good friend. The Woody Allen movie Another Woman explores the flip side of this..that is, it is ideal for the woman, too, if the man loves passionately..if he hungers for her; he is not going to be a financial high flyer..but hey, he hungers.
The Romantic poets of course understood this better than anyone.

I am left perplexed. Who on earth would feel heat for Violet? Who would hunger?

PS. Notice that since " long covid" became a thing people have a lot less asthma or Lyme or other mysterious long term hard to prove illness. Generally it's just minor untreated depression. Major depression is now "trans" stupidity.

My heart goes out to Miss Affleck. People with Fear of Unmasked Faces (FUF) can be triggered by the unmuffled sound of a maskless face. This is why I always wear my mask on conference calls, even when my camera is off. It's a really small gesture but it's the right thing to do. ☮

Heh, heh!

The comments are a hoot. The problem is, I can't tell which people are serious. I can't tell if the people voting thumbs up are seriously thinking the comments are serious or they glad for the LOLs like me. (I have no virtual thumbs, myself.)

Adam, you provided a link to the original article a post here was about. I meant to paste that in. Perhaps this one, and the choicest of comments would be a good post for tonight, even though I have dozens of other posts backed up.

As for me, my only question for Miss Affleck on her speech would be "Mind if I fart?"

PS: OK, Mr. Tyre, per Mr. Smith's AI question, you are taking a principled stance by wearing a mask when no one is looking. There are also 5, count 'em, 5 other reasons why this practice of yours is good and virtuous.

Hopefully you weren't kidding. Hopefully I am.

PS: Regarding AI's take on Violet Ganrer's bona fides, that 2nd point was a doozy! I'd like to paste it in, but that was an image, and too lazy to type it all.

If I didn't know better, I'd think that Miss Garner, the teenager, is a big fan of Primetime #99 Alex Stein. I look forward to videos of her at city council meetings.

Interesting stuff, that FUF, but the AI lies about the PanicFest having "exacerbated" this syndrome. No, it STARTED it.

PS: "𝐶𝑎𝑡𝑐ℎ 𝑀𝑒 𝐼𝑓 𝑌𝑜𝑢 𝐶𝑎𝑛" I DID see that one too, but it didn't appear in the list I saw, or I missed it. I'd thought that movies was from earlier, but the web says 2002. Great movie, IMO.

I looked it up. Jennifer Garner played the hooker Cheryl who "Frank" (Leo DiCaprio) swindled like everyone else. He was gonna pay her $1,000, but he only had a check made out for $1,400 - can't remember how that came about. She gave him the $400 "back", and then, well, that guy's checks weren't usually good.

I'll check out your AI links now, Adam.

Apparently she was an extra in 𝐷𝑒𝑐𝑜𝑛𝑠𝑡𝑟𝑢𝑐𝑡𝑖𝑛𝑔 𝐻𝑎𝑟𝑟𝑦. (I didn't realize this until I looked at her filmography page.) She was also in 𝐶𝑎𝑡𝑐ℎ 𝑀𝑒 𝐼𝑓 𝑌𝑜𝑢 𝐶𝑎𝑛. PS: Heh, Mr. Trye, nice satire there!

Were you 7 years old right now, I'd think you were serious... not just because of 7 years old, but because you might have been exposed to the masking stupidity for a very significant part of your toddler years. Not good.

On some business calls, I could see masking up being of real benefit. If they come back at you later saying "you told us to do this, and the whole project is now in disarray!", you can simply say "You heard wrong."

PS: Good morning, SafeNow. Yeah, I didn't even add the "Humor" tag, but it creeps in insidiously lots of the time.

Right. The viruses mutate, and when they get the least deadly, they are better at spreading because people live with them. The common cold is not fun, but with a sore throat for a day, maybe some bouts of sneezing, and a day where my sleeves are used as tissues for a while, it's something that doesn't stop me from any normal activities. That last bit by Violet Alfac that I included has her worried that kids can't live normal lives. We got colds as kids (more than I do now). We lived normal lives. We didn't have the internet on which to experience stupidity like this, so that was a big plus.

Has anyone asked AI what's the difference in symptoms between the common cold or the '25 variants of Covid-19?

I hope Trump does say something like that. I wonder if he still feels invested in his "moon shot" or whatever they called that quick release of those vaccines and his words actions in '20 in which he went along with "The Experts". The guy doesn't like to admit he was wrong, but I've heard of him doing that a couple of times now.

PS
An extremely funny column, thank you!
Now, technically, Covid as one might think of it, IS actually “ongoing,” …but at a very small incidence. The CDC’s Covid hospitalization frequency for Sept of 2025 is minuscule. But assuming a person’s Covid case is a standard one, and not one of the rare, unlucky hospital cases, what does his Covid look like? Here’s where it gets really interesting. and important. AI tells us that a bad cough, or smell/taste loss, are no longer the frequent symptoms. Rather, “the variants circulating in 2025 often cause symptoms that resemble a common cold or flu.” AI then goes on to list the symptoms, and these sure look like cold or flu symptoms. I believe Trump was premature when he said Covid is the flu, but it is clear that NOW he could say Covid is a cold or the flu.
