PS: Yeah, this K-pop gal is pretty friendly - not sure about sexy in that video but very feminine. She does that usual thing of trying to become Western looking. I think she'd be fine with the straight dark Korean hair, but that's their thing...

I could see her doing a children's show. She could take over for Mr. Rogers...

Your chat was very interesting. I guess this AI program expects questions, not statement. Then it tries to please you with something that takes off on what you stated.

I'll have to write some more later... ran into a friend while travelling.

Messrs. Moderator & Hail,
If steve ever gets around to moderating I replied to a few of your comments under his latest post. You'll probably see them by early next week. (Maybe?)

I had a somewhat interesting exchange with the UnzBot...

ā€œNEGRO… an awful example of the corruption of man when left to himself..ā€

True, but they are in good company, as demonstrated by the popularity of so-called ā€œoutpost fiction.ā€ Somerset Maugham, Graham Greene, etc. The idea was that a cultivated,high-ranking foreign-service officer gets transferred to some remote posting in Africa or Indonesia, and soon, freed of the constraints of civil society, he quickly unravels into a scheming and immoral base person. He tries to keep the old self alive through rituals, but rituals don’t suffice when everything around him is crumbling. I would type more but I don’t want to be late for my pre-dinner gin & tonic.

PS: Yeaaahhh, I guess there didn't seem to be much to celebrate in 1789. What's changed since that EB article?

-- Black History Month at PS --

Here are the experts talking about Black History Month about two centuries before it was discovered:

Encyclopedia Britannica
3rd edition (1798)
Vol. 12, p.794:

__________

NEGRO. A name given to a variety of the human species, who are entirely black, and are found in the Torrid zone, especially in that part of Africa that lies within the tropics... Vices the most notorious seem to be the portion of this unhappy race: idleness, treachery, revenge, cruelty, impudence, stealing, lying, profanity, debauchery, nastiness, and intemperance, are said to have extinguished the principles of natural law, and to have silenced the reproofs of conscience. They are strangers to every sentiment of compassion, and are an awful example of the corruption of man when left to himself...
