AlGore and the Calamity Doomers: The Point of Know Return

This week has turned into AlGore week and another week* of Climate Calamity™ discussion. Maybe it will all be behind us sooner than you probably think, but I'll get to that later.

I hope you watched the very short video of a ranting AlGore making the prediction about the seas boiling. Well, while trying to dig out some of his old standards, errr, predictions, on the near-future climate of the Earth, I came across one that had 2 of them. (That "Snows of Kilimanjaro" - great name for a movie, BTW - prediction was one already mentioned, but I somehow have this memory of this Professional Alarmist predicting a more general forecast about snow: We in America would not see snow falling after a few years.)

Until this recent rant at the WEF, I recall these predictions from the man mostly from the '00s, 15 or more years back. They were short-term predictions, with deadlines already past. Now, look, the climate of a planet shaped like a sphere** and with an atmosphere is a complicated thing. I wouldn't be on the case of this guy, if he were making these predictions in the Farmer's Goremanac. No, he has been berating us for 2 decades with these dire warnings to scare the 'tards and politicians (but I repeat myself) and enable the Globalists to enact plans based on this utter bullshit. So, yes, we will gloatingly point out the now-proven-wrong predictions.

From the Natural News site*** we can see Al Gore’s climate change predictions IMPLODE as everybody realizes the North Pole didn’t completely melt. That article is from over 5 years ago. Here are just a couple of these predictions:
... we found it prudent to remind our readers that roughly nine years ago today, Gore predicted that many of you were going to be swallowed up by rising sea waters caused from tons of melting ice.
That means he said this 14 years ago, so in '09. I don't know who he meant by "you", but he had to be alive and strong enough to put up with an AlGore rant. Let's say that's 20 years old in '09, so, with an average lifespan, but your perhaps not being a good swimmer, this will happen to YOU - that 20 y/o in the audience - before 2070. We should see something by now though, right? If it's a linear process, we should have seen a foot or two rise, otherwise, he's only talking to the "you"'s that reside in prisons at lower than 10' above sea level. (Let's see, "not a good swimmer" and "in prison", who might that be? "That ice cap be raciss, man!!") The rest of us would be able to do a gradual 10 or 20 year evacuation, precluding even the costs of U-Haul rental.
Again in 2009, Gore told an audience in Copenhagen, Denmark, that there was a “75 percent chance” that during “some summer months” the “polar ice cap” would disappear completely within “five years.”
OK, like with the weather forecast more than occasionally (and more than 25% of the time!) we got lucky on the 25% side. Yeah, but the ice in the Arctic has not nearly disappeared, and it's also been 180% longer a period of time that's passed. Wildly wrong again!

In case the reader is wondering what's the point of this post, much less of "know return", or if this is post of no return, let me get to it. This one is not about the AlGore being spectacularly wrong in his predictions of climate change. Let me paste in this excerpt from the same article, out of order.
In January 2006, Al Gore claimed that “within the next 10 years, the world will reach a point of no return” and “a true planetary emergency” due to human-caused global warming.
It's not just this particular alarmist that's been saying "point of no return", "it'll be too late", "beyond fixing", etc. Most of them give out some kind of deadline like that as a warning. We need to DO SOMETHING! By "we", we mean the governments of the world, with your tax money, and you need to comply! Otherwise the Earth will be beyond the point of no return. (I don't think they mean some perturbation that takes us completely out of orbit.)

Instead of worrying, though, some of us Climate Deniers™ - yes, I DENY any existence of any kind of atmosphere, hence climate, on this planet - I'll pay for my own O2, thank you very much - where was I? Instead of worrying, I am really looking forward to the point of no return. Will the AlGore, the rest of the WEF, and little Greta, give up and go home on that date? They could then spew all the CO2 they like out the exhausts of those large-cabin BizJets with no hidden guilt. It'll be over! We'd have lost. Nothing left to do then for the elites but go home and hunker down at the beach house with sand bags handy until... no, there will BE no next conference, right?

At that point, we deniers can run our economies with no interference. There'd be no point in controlling the production and use of energy. They said it would be too late. Watt would be the point? It's all over, 4-leaf clover. The fat lady done sung. I, for one, will welcome the Climate Calamity™. Hopefully this song will help us understand.

It's The Calamity Song:

Nope, it didn't . It's a great sound though, anyway. If you like that guitar riff, well, that's due to REM guitarist Peter Buck having taught the Decemberist guitarist a thing or two. Unlike most REM songs (especially the early ones), you CAN make out the lyrics, but these ones don't make too much sense either. It doesn't matter. Also, there is an official video from the band, but the thing is distractingly stupid.

Finally, for an understanding of the homohone-error-looking title, we refer to a song from 3 1/2 decades earlier, the band Kansas. It's The Point of Know Return, the title song of an album released by this band in 1977.

The band Kansas was from, yes, Topeka, Kansas. There was thing back then about naming bands after places. Boston was another, and I know there were more. I guess people were proud of where they were from then. The Decemberists, from Portland, Oregon, named themselves after revolutionaries in 1825 Russia.

Thanks for reading and commenting another week, Peakers. We'll do some catching up with articles I've got in some of the 100 browser tabs open here (no kidding either) next week. There's also the comparison calculation of solar influx to the Earth vs. man-dissipated energy, from commenter M's suggestion. Also (and thank you, Mr. Hail):

H A P P Y - - E A S T E R - - S U N D A Y!

*************************
[UPDATED: 04/09:]
Yes, it Easter today. On a minor note, I fixed "self-titled" vs "title song" ("cut", they used to say), the latter being correct, obviously, for that Kansas album.
*************************

* The most recent time was over a weekend, really, when we discussed Dr. Sabine Hossenfelder and The Greenhouse Effect and Beyond: Part 1 - - Part 2 and Part 3.

** Yeah, I know they all are and pretty much gotta be by the physics. However, within the very definition of the cause of weather (not the climate, but they symptoms of it) is that it is due to "unequal heating of the Earth's surface". You need Ringworld or Discworld (the latter not being a Sci-Fi title even) to avoid this. The tilt of the axis sure doesn't help matters, dammit!

*** I've been on that site before, and haven't seen anything I've disagreed with.

PS

You know when scientists say that they don't understand certain abrupt meteorological events that pop up now and then do you know where the answer is to be found? Within the Bible where one will find everything about present day climate change explained and quite well in fact. So vast is the information on the subject that it covers everything we are seeing currently, everything!!. Within the pages of the bible one will even find the solution to climate change which is really quite simple. But it gets even more astonishing because if one reads the book of Job correctly one will learn that the weather is a great military weapon in the hands of God which He employs at various times.

Have you entered the storehouses of the snow, Or have you seen the storehouses of the hail, Which I have reserved for the time of trouble, For the day of battle and war? Job 38:22-23

Like for example:

https://youtu.be/Gi7GOcwUwQg

But there is so much the more.

With Easter, well one should keep a weather diary and one will soon say to one self what huh? Easter again? The
Dust Bowl of the 1930's as one such example.

And as for "stupid" real "Peak Stupidity" that is didn't Christ sum it up perfectly?

Everyone then who hears these words of mine and does them will be like a wise man who built his house on the rock. 25 And the rain fell, and the floods came, and the winds blew and beat on that house, but it did not fall, because it had been founded on the rock. 26 And everyone who hears these words of mine and does not do them will be like a foolish man who built his house on the sand. 27 And the rain fell, and the floods came, and the winds blew and beat against that house, and it fell, and great was the fall of it.”

If one see ones house leave its foundation for the bridge you will know who tried to warn you accordingly!

"I don't like these purely geographical terms for peoples"

For accuracy's sake alone, a MENA category is a lot better than tossing them in with the White core population of the USA, which is just ridiculous to me.

Adding them into the White category doesn't reflect self-identity or really ANYthing meaningful except, what, Caucasoid skull shape. And any good physical anthropologist could generally still tell a typical MENA'ite from a Northern European.

- Google ended its ties to Christmas in 2012 -

Apropos of Google's boycott of Easter:

Google has always run "Happy Holidays" main-page drawings or animations before Christmas, often with Santa in them. But plugging in the actual word "Christmas" to the Google Doodles Archive gives an interesting result:

The word "Christmas" appears in the description to all its "Happy Holidays" special-day doodles from 1999 (Google's first year) up until 2011, without interruption. Then, starting in 2012, it's gone. It has not reappeared. Google quashed any recognition of Christmas in 2012, the word becoming taboo even in a description.

Christmas has reappeared once in the Google Doodles, but not in the USA or Western Europe saw it. They ran a Christmas thing for Russia, Belarus, and Ukraine for Orthodox Christmas 2019/2020 (Jan. 7th, 2020). I guess the usual political-commissars in charge of these things were lax in overseeing the Russia-Belarus-Ukraine branch. Other than that one case, "Christmas" was out at Google.

- Arab Heritage Month -

In case Peak Stupidity has not yet received word, this may be of interest:

Pro-MENA forces in the Biden White House orbit have successfully lobbied for April to henceforth be "Arab Heritage Month."

Unlike Easter, Arab Heritage Month -IS- entitled to commemoration and celebration by Google.

The biggest (or most cynical) question with regard to the new Middle East & North African category, now being created for official purposes by the Regime, is whether Jews will get in. If Jews get a Regime-approved category-recognition such as to enable them to receive affirmative action for historic injustices by the White-Christian Oppressor against MENA people (or at least dodge the systemic anti-White discrimination), it's bad news for us. Sadly, it is not hard to imagine that happening...

For the Seinfeld people, I refer to the actual people and not the characters.

Julia Louis-Dreyfuss is a pretty obvious Jew by looking an listening to hear. "Dreyfuss" is such a Jewish name that one of the anti-Semitism controversies in Europe pitted bad-guy White-Christian bullies tormenting a Jew named Dreyfuss out of their (White-Christian) innate malice. This bullying of the saintly Jew Mr. Dreyfuss is often considered one of the big events of French "fin de siecle" era, for some reason.

As for characters, George Costanza was not Jewish in the show but the man "Jason Alexander" (a stage name) is another obvious Jew.

The other people associated with the show, more important than the actors, include the quintessential Jewish neurotic comedian, Larry David.

Mr. Hail, I had thought the only of the 4 not Jewish was Elaine, played by Julia Louse Dreyfuss, or Louise-Julia Dreyfuss or one of those 3-named people. BTW, she was the wife in the yuppie couple living next to Chevy Chase in "Christmas Vacation".

The very-Jewish show Seinfeld (the only non-Jew prominently involved being Michael Richards) I believe never dared do any Easter jokes or plotlines.

In other Easter-related news, Google has again heroically stuck it to the White-Christian Oppressor by declining to mention Easter in its main-page "doodles."

Google celebrates landmark events in such fields as Black History and feminism, commemorative days for for the Regime civic religion (similar to how 25-cent-pieces you now receive tend to have Black, Hispanic, or Asian feminist icons glaring at you on the back), but Google reliably blanks-out Easter.

https://www.unz.com/isteve/google-celebrates-easter/

https://www.unz.com/isteve/happy-easter/

According to Sailer commented Joël Cuerrier in 2014, Google's people noted Easter with a main-page "doodle" in April 2000, and never again thereafter.

PS: Yep, I find it hard to believe that there are people that haven't been read the 2 Aesops fables and not figured the concepts themselves by a later age either. "For Want of a Nail" is one of my favorites - not Aesop, as far as I know, but a very good allegory(?)

You are of course, The Alarmist. I don't deny that. ;-}

M, I see what you mean. Nobody will be frantic enough to DO SOMETHING, ANYTHING! if you make the deadline too far out. By making it this close, he must have either assumed that the Globalist and Deep State crowd would have already taken control (to the point of Know Return) before his date, or he was a deluded true believer in those years. He had that one college course with the one guy, so... a Professor, he was!

PS
The "you must pay to avoid x (the catastrophe)" scam works better if there's a deadline that's not too far off. The near deadline means that you can't hold off and study it more, you must do (whatever they say) to prevent it.

The downside of a deadline is that eventually it comes up.

When x doesn't happen, some people will see that. The huckster (and you can't call him anything else at this point) can either say "well I checked my notes and it turns out the deadline is a little further away - it's now y".

Or the huckster can just ignore what he said and say the same thing again, but with the new deadline. There's always more suckers out there to contribute after all.

See the millenarian prophets (that's just before 1000AD...) for an earlier example.

Or for a more recent one, there was a group that believed we would be taken up by benevolent aliens on a certain date, which got revised a few times before the group disbanded.

PS

The problem with Globalist Stooges like Mr. Gore is that in all their professed knowledge, they have a huge gap in what we used to call The Classics. There is little that is new (knew?) under the Sun. For example, Climate Alarmists (they might be alarmist, but I am The Alarmist) seem totally ignorant of Aesop’s fables, two of which come to mind:

1) The Boy Who Cried Wolf, which explains the futility of their preferred paradigm; and

2) The Tortoise and the Hare, which explains the effectiveness of the paradigm they have unwittingly followed almost, but not quite to success, which frustrates them to the point of doubling down on stupidity that might ultimately deny their reaching of their desired finish-line.

It could be that arrogant Boomers like Gore, being Boomers, would rather see the game blown up rather than to not live to see the successful achievement of their twisted goals.

O/T

Back when I lived in NYC, I stayed in the city one Easter (I usually fled to CT on holidays), so I asked my Jewish neighbor out to brunch that Sunday (just qnother Sunday brunch to her), but none of our usual watering holes was open, and after five or so closed restaurants, she went on a rant about selfish Christians and how annoying it was that they would close everything on one of their holiest days.

So I calmly asked, “Steph, why is restaurateuring, something that is actually useful in life, is a profession that Jews do not dominate?”

Happy Easter, Frohe Ostern, and Joyeuses Pâques, as you like.
