Anemone - The Brian Jonestown Massacre

The name of this band is a portmanteau of "Brian Jones", the founder of The Rolling Stones, and the "Jonestown Massacre", a large murder/suicide by the Communist cult led by Jim Jones. The latter was described in detail in a 4-part series of posts here, on or about (so, "about", actually) the 40th anniversary of its occurrence, called Drinking the Kommie Kool-Aid - 40 years back.*

I may have heard the name of this band once or twice, but I'd never heard a thing by them. Commenter Duncsbaby embedded this song in the Unz Review threads, and I was impressed right away.

The lyrics are few and not that special from what I can make out, but who cares? The sound is great!

This song's called Anemone. and it's from the band's project's 2nd album, from 1996, called Their Satanic Majesties' Second Request. (I figured Wiki doesn't list the band members because it's not a band, it's a project. OTOH, they list Alan Parsons Project Associates. (I don't know, Team Members?)) The Project Leader is Anton Newcombe. They are still touring, per their own site, but to me this isn't concert music. Listen at home, from the couch.

I didn't forget that MTG v AOC post, but we got sucked up into Trump/DeSantis week. We'll find out about the Trump arrest, which would really be a BIG THING (another milestone in the transition to Banana Republic). There's a post coming on a near-miss, well near-hit really, from the Kung Flu PanicFest in the UK, and probably 4 or 5 others. Stay tuned! Don't touch that browser Favorites button! Thanks so much for reading and especially for writing in!

PS Ganderson, you nailed it! I was going to say, Dang, that’s downright psychedelic. Makes me feel like I’m back in 1967.

PS The song has a “San Francisco 1967” feel to it.

PS: That house is nothing special, but it's the area, I guess. People are in Glynn County and thereabouts , as they wanted to get away from black parts of Georgia. Then, well, you're there in Satilla Shores, and the joggers come to you... and you spend life in prison for trying to help... or just for backing yourself up with video (bad moves in hindsight only, IMO). So, you move onto the islands. Who knows how long they'll be nice.

There's great BBQ by the St. Simon's airport. Jekyll has a runway too, but I don't know about the BBQ.

PS: " I have unwittingly ruined my country." Not all of it was unwitting, you Globalist bastard! (Not you, Sarge, of course, but directed at Woodrow's next of kin ... I guess...)

He was pretty determined in his actions in getting America into The Great War and later in deciding the fate of the many peoples of Europe and the world at Versailles. "Making the world safe for democracy", yeah, it's not like he was some naive kid or something.

It's not the President's purview, but still, the guy was President during the birth of the Creature from Jekyll Island (2 days before Christmass, 1913), and the ratification of Amendments XVII on direct election of Senators and XVIII on prohibition, the first only just a few weeks into his first term, granted. He shoulda said something! No, seriously regarding the income tax Amendment, early on, in 1913 still, President Wilson pushed for lowering of tariffs and the making up of that revenue with income tax - it was to be 10% of income above $4000. Yes 4 Large was a LOT then, but this was a good start in the work against State power.

I'll tell you what, 1913 was a VERY BAD YEAR... cue up whoever it is with the music ...

PS I am a most unhappy man. I have unwittingly ruined my country. A great industrial nation is controlled by its system of credit. Our system of credit is concentrated. The growth of the nation, therefore, and all our activities are in the hands of a few men. We have come to be one of the worst ruled, one of the most completely controlled and dominated Governments in the civilized world - no longer a Government by free opinion, no longer a Government by conviction and the vote of the majority, but a Government by the opinion and duress of a small group of dominant men.

PS: I'm glad you like this one, KMUa.

Unfortunately, the MTG v AOC post will not include any mud wrastling. I know, I know ...

Thanks for writing in, Bonus Round. You mean those solid wooden desks, such as in The Penguin's classroom wouldn't have protected us? When it comes to a 'roid, though, who knows if even that Russian CD could keep humanity alive. Believe me, I've played the video game...

PS Speaking of a near miss there is talk of an asteroid passing by which could hit Earth on the 25th.
Moscow is placing S-400 missile batteries everywhere and they do have world class civil defense, not courthouse and library basements with Blues Brothers elementary school desks.

PS Good selections!
What impeccable taste in music.
Check out Too Many Eyes by Anton Newcombe solo.
It uses footage from the French film Savage Planet which is EPIC greatness.
I'll play that one on loop like some of my favorite electro house tracks.
MTG vs AOC? Eye candy Kabuki for late stage Weimar Cabaret as both are caricatures right out of central casting.
There is a great video by stating that AOC is an actress and affiliated with the Young Turks.
Why can't they come out and mudwrestle with folding chairs while Stormy Daniels does the play by play.
Honk honk!
