This picture tells the story of media hypocrisy

Peak Stupidity could write 2,000 words on the subject of the media hypocrisy regarding Western Kung Flu PanicFest Totalitarianism and (too damned mild) pushback and the same in China of late. However, this set of images will take care of it.

How about a few hundred words or so from us nonetheless? From scores of internet pundits and commenters I've heard the theme that says China is to the Right what Russia is to the left.* I don't agree. I have learned over the last few years that the Chinese Communist Party, though not Communist in the economic sense by any means, is a real force for evil. No, they are not a militarily enemy (at this point, though, we sure aren't helping keep it that way), but they have been winning an economic war handily.

Peak Stupidity has our sources. We don't claim to have moles within the CCP or anything, but just Chinese people who know what's what and can read on Chinese apps what we sure can't.

There's a lot not to love about China. However, the media supports the Chinese protestors because, right or left, they are simply anti-China without knowing a thing about the place due to "USA! USA! USA!" and "Beacon of Freedom!" Yet, that American "Beacon of Freedom" was taken out of service for the last 3 years for routine maintenance Kung Flu PanicFest. Now, due to AA and the immigration invasion, they can't hire any handy White Men to put that beacon back in service.

Lastly here, there are those in the media who are beyond hypocrisy when it comes to the Kung Flu PanicFest. In other words, there's this Taylor Lorenz freak, who our readers may have read the stupidity of on other topics. Well, WaPo's Taylor Lorenz defends China's zero-COVID policy while blaming US for killing 'millions' by reopening**. At least here is a member of the media who is very consistent. She's gonna panic about the Kung Flu until reality slaps her in the face with something to REALLY panic about. "Panic Today! Panic Tomorrow! Panic Forever" - Taylor Lorenz
There is no lasting 'natural immunity' to COVID," she wrote. "You can get covid over and over and over again bc there are so many endlessly evolving strains and antibodies wane. Also, choosing not to kill off millions of vulnerable people (as the US is doing) isn't a 'critical flaw',' the internet culture reporter argued.
In all fairness, that article does state that Miss*** Lorenz says she had some more nuance. Yeah, put me down for some of that nuance.

PS: We will be offline for posts or comments for about 24 hours. I'd really like to address that Sam J./ J. Derbyshire theory on the Chinese Covid~Zero stupidity late on Saturday.

* That's in the current era, of course. The ctrl-left LUVED them some Soviet Russians back in the day. Nobody had a lot to say about China 50 years ago, because it was a dark hole.

** BTW, the page with this article has an MSN logo and a Fox News logo, while it refers to a Washington Post reporter. I don't know!

*** I tried to look up if she is married, but wiki only says that she was engaged in '15. It also notes that "In an interview with MSNBC, Lorenz said that she has "severe PTSD" from experiencing online harassment.". Want Dr. Stupidity's bedside advice? Take 2 aspirin and get the hell off the internet! It's bad enough you're on TV!

PS: I read only your last link so far, Adam. I can see where these guys stand:

"In the 1980s, the AIDS pandemic resulted in laws prohibiting specific populations from donating blood,8 as many considered this to be a disease exclusive to members of the lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, and queer (LGBTQ) community. Several of these laws have only recently begun to change, despite the blood supply in the USA being completely voluntary, anonymous, and safer than it has ever been." Well, yeah, it IS kind of exclusive to those people. And it IS spread via blood, so ... how many people died because they or their doctor didn't want to be, what, rude?

"This underscores the magnitude of this alarming trend of misinformation regarding COVID-19 vaccination and blood safety, influenced by intentionally misleading or blatantly false discussions, particularly on social media, e.g. Fig 1. This inaccurate information may harm patients in need of blood, but who refuse it based on false beliefs or conspicuous prejudice. Despite this, the US Food and Drug Administration (FDA) and many of the largest blood donor organizations in the USA, including the ARC, New York Blood Center, and OneBlood, have not published easily accessible information refuting this false information."

Well, or you could just provide he information the patient wants, and let him decide.

I'm sure you read in there too: "While these ideologies appear to be most prevalent in North America, particularly in the USA,..." Hmmm, maybe American aren't ALL so stupid.

Thanks for this info on the parallels between now and 40 years back, Adam. And this one particular guy was involved both times.

PS: About that unvaxxed blood from the blood banks...

As far as I know blood banks are not tracking donor vaccination status. If you need a blood transfusion you'll have to find untainted blood on your own. If you're going to have a surgery or something it's probably a good idea to have your blood taken and stored before the procedure.

PS: Alarmist, I meant to add that I had not thought about the situation with the blood banks before. Can a hospital patient or someone with one of that DNR, etc, info on file request un-vax-tainted blood? I'm guessing that'd have been laughed at until very recently.

Mr. Kief, I wrote you back on "The Unz Review" on this - I wasn't trying to correct your use of "DIE". That was addressed to Mr. Derbyshire, aka, "Mr. D" (I got lazy) or The Derbinator per another commenter. Sorry for the confusion.

PS: From commenter Alarmist: "The masses still cling to the fiction that at least they prevent COVID deaths, though that too has had more than a few holes inadvertantly blown into it by Mr. Fudd’s shotgun lately." (Quote about the US)

What I"m seeing here is not anyone really giving a damn about getting these shots. Some may still be blasé about it - "well, they keep requiring more boosters at my company, so I gotta take 'em. I don't care either way. I get paid an extra hour .." etc. However, lot of people, once I tell them that me and my family (all but one) are having none of this, they start talking, and we relate stories back and forth and almost get to "Solidarity, brother!" (or sister!) at the end. It's great to be a part of this group too.

Regarding China: "It seems the riots might have caused them to back down, if only just a little." Sure, they may have an asinine program in place, but they sure don't want to let things go haywire in that country of 1.4 billion people. Stuff's happened before ... So, instead, they could easily send lots of the instigators home to cool off. I"m guessing it will work.

One thing I meant to write you yesterday about Moon-of-Alabama's post was that I do agree with him that these protests will probably tail right off. That's unfortunate for the Chinese people. The CCP cranked up 100 years back, and in Chinese history time, that's but a blink. Will it go on for a couple of Millennium?

Anyway, the Chinese angle is my next post, yet again.

Thank you for the great comment about the situation in Europe. Yeah, you're talking Sylvester, and of course I do know The Knack song. I think sometime in April '20 I connected this, but someone on youtube already had a version out. (Plus, I can't sing worth a dang.)

PS: Adam, that guy plays like a real classical guitarist. Nice version!

For Mr. Kief:

"The reverse version of this idea goes like this: Always fight for foreign freedoms (China, Ukraine,Libya, Irak, Vietnam...). - - This is basically what the left does since ages.". Yeah, I like it put that way too, but I think it's not been just the (official) left in the country that's been like that. Only the Libertarians/Constitutionalists seem to have given a damn about freedom in America over the last 2 1/2 decades.

1995 is the year I gave in one blog post that was the time of my awaking that "nobody is stopping this slide toward a Police State here". That was after Waco and Ruby Ridge, but just after that "Contract with America" of Newt Gingrich was let to rot and also the time they decided in my State that check point for drunk driving were somehow perfectly OK.

In the meantime the ctrl-left started coming around to "spreading freedom and democracy" once the Cold War was over and we could try to spread it to the Communists overseas anymore (at least the European ones).

PS: Good evening, Mr. Hail,

No hidden meaning and nothing to decipher. (Well, I guess it's a continuation of my comment from the previous post* in a way.) I've been spending more time watching music videos and less time reading about news and other such nonsense. I think that version of goodbye yellow brick road is a nice guitar arrangement of that piano song. I should probably learn it just for fun. (Meaning = I should probably spend more time playing guitar. It's good for the soul.)

(*Jeff Martin isn't everyone's cup of tea, but his guitar work is pretty interesting.)

PS: Mr. Hail, thank you for that less-than-flattering run-down of the personality and (little bit of) background on Miss Lorenz, especially needed after I learned "She also controversially engages in "doxxing," which is widely considered immoral, a breach of Internet ethics."

Whatever state of feminism she is in, this one involves no down-to-earth knowledge about what men outside of the WaPo or Washington FS narrative-building business do to keep the world running. As compared to the "shoe-leather" reporters, she could simply believe any stupid thing if it were big and "trending" on the internet. She doesn't need to see anything with her own eyes or talk to anyone it person who might tell it like it is.

PS

I’ve been one of Europe’s loud unvaxxed minority for the entire period. My colleagues shrugged off my “condition” early on, when I pointed out the absudity of an unvaxxed soul infecting them if the vaxxes actually worked as advertised (they don’t, and it is obvious), so I don’t feel like I dropped out of society, and I’ve crossed the border many times at will, so I seem to still be part of it. I have noticed a few of Mrs. Alarmist’s friends being a bit haughty about being vaxxed while we weren’t, but they’ve all been COVID positive several times since they welcomed the holy sacrament of the blessed vaxxes into their hearts. We haven’t yet been so blessed in either way.

Did you know that prior to the ‘rona, it was believed that Americans suffered over a billion cases of colds each year, including a couple common Coronaviridae strains, which works out to roughly over three colds per year per person on average. I’ve had one bad cold (Jan 2020 ... maybe it was My Corona ... Muh-Muh-Muh My Corona ... h/t The Knack) since 2012, so someone is having a few extras to make up for me and my wife, and from what I can see, those poor schmucks are likely “protected” by the sacred vaxxes.

But to the hypocrisy on display, our lords and masters seem to have figured they have indeeed been granted the amnesty by the tainted majority (they don’t care what the untainted minority think), so they can afford to display their hypocrisy against the evil ChiComs, on whom they they think they will turn once they have finished off the Wascally Wussians. Yes, at first I thought we might be up the technologically advanced but inept Looney Tunes Martian, but it turns out we were up against the nevertheless inept Elmer Fudd. Suffering Succotash. Oops, wrong Looney Tune character.

The less obvious, but still there hypocrisy, is evidenced in many things: The debate in France last week was over whether or not the unvaxxed medical workers should be restored to their jobs. It seems they’re running out of bodies to care for the bodies they have injured with their magical warp-speed potions. NHS is also short of bodies, but they’re pretending they are swamped by the masses not properly handled during lockdown, which has perhaps ten percent truth to it. Yes, the US is struggling with these problems too, but the plaintiffs’ bar is finally awakening to the opportunities. Morgan and Morgan ... For the People.

Not to mention bloodbanks around the world clamoring for blood untainted by the sacred vaxxes.

Despite all this, CDC and a number of their foreign equivalents continue to chant the “safe and effective” mantra. When I was in the USA last month, I was barraged with hundreds of ads to get my booster to protect me and others, while the Quisling media was starting to let slip that the sacred vaxxes don’t actually prevent spread, this coming to light long after it became common knowledge that they don’t prevent catching the bug. The masses still cling to the fiction that at least they prevent COVID deaths, though that too has had more than a few holes inadvertantly blown into it by Mr. Fudd’s shotgun lately.

Let’s assume the Chinese aren’t purely evil and are just stupid in this case. It seems the riots might have caused them to back down, if only just a little. Western European authorities really wanted to keep the COVID narrative going, but even the beclowned German Ampel Coalition realised it was losing the sheeple. I see plenty of masks on common folk when I’m in Germany, a tribute to the influence Government propaganda still has on the German people, but masks are mandatory only in a few categories of places. I see fewer in France, and still fewer in the UK (I was on a packed tube last week with two visible mask wearers out of several hundred commuters within sight).

Who knows really why the Chinese cling to Zero COVID ... more importantly, why have the governments of the West slinked away from their own stupidity while keeping the clownworld apparatuses, like Vaxx Passports, still on the agenda?

Inquiring minds want to know.

The basic dynamic is a reverse model of the old saying that the cherries in neighbors garden are always sweeter.
The reverse version of this idea goes like this: Always fight for foreign freedoms (China, Ukraine,Libya, Irak, Vietnam...). - - This is basically what the left does since ages. And it is a form of perverted Utopianism, in this respect. The result is a fundamental confusion not only about foreign countries, but also - about ourselves.

See- Matt Taibbi's analysis of the US mainstream media, which he presented in the Canadian Munk-debate. Taibbi's sidekick was the furious Douglas Murray. They debated Malcom Gladwell (New Yorker) and Ms. Goldberg/ NYT. Taibbi and Murray scored the highest victory in the history of the Munk debate (they did better than Jordan B. Peterson before them!).

- A commentary on Taylor Lorenz as quintessential Flu Virus Panicker, Panic-pusher, Panic-loyalist -

.

The journalist Taylor Lorenz is a poster-child for several things, generally all bad.

She definitely personifies Internet Age dysfunction, almost to a 'T' among people of her age-range (born mid-1980s) whose lives in principle straddle the boundary between the analog world and the digital world--but not hers: She spends virtually all her waking hours online, by her account.

Despite being employed by one of the flagship newspapers of regime-media, she is more a "social media personality" than a traditional old-school newspaper journalist. The latter would, in days of yore, run through large quantities of shoe-leather in the course of their work, tracking down facts, getting interviews, making observations others likely would not, and sometimes at personal risk. The traditional journalist would then write up the findings neutrally or pleasantly, depending on type of column. In terms familiar to us in the past ten or so years, Lorenz is also a poster-child for "Narrative" over "facts."

Lorenz probably also has high-functioning mental illness of some kind. This year she revealed (on Twitter, naturally) that for years she cheated on paying her subway fares using certain tricks she had developed. Note that she is from a fairly wealthy family. Why did she do this? She also controversially engages in "doxxing," which is widely considered immoral, a breach of Internet ethics.

Lorenz also symbolizes 'toxic' feminism. If you interact with a certain type of politically 'blue' White woman (and White-adjacent nonwhites in some cases), you know the personality well, and it's bad. But it's also not some little personality quirk. It's a gender-based (neo-)class-identity. A new class. In the past fifty years a new class has been born, and it is this sort of Western woman. All opinion polling now shows this in spades, but you're able to observe it in the wild without any datasets at all. She believes she is part of a sacred class of 'Woke' Western women who have the right to rule based on their moral virtue and the inherent malice of their opposition. All coherent class-identities seem to have an aspect of "our class is morally superior to others," and this one has that in spades.

Lorenz, born mid-1980s, very likely has a mother who also fits into an earlier iteration in the same class-formation process I just mention, the feminist or Woke Womanhood. She is heavily online, every day stewing in the juices of such things; she has said she spends 12 hours actively online and that on slow days (and she's far from the only one). Not long ago, that would have been considered pathological, a sign someone "needs help"). But she cannot imagine anything else. She lives an artificial and highly negative reality.

These characteristics combine to make Taylor Lorenz the quintessential Flu Virus Panicker, those galvanized by the Panic in early 2020.

The sad thing is, many of these characteristics I've listed are stronger in the b.2000s cohort than they ever could dream to be among her b.1980s cohort. Unless we develop societal-cultural defense mechanisms to disempower these people, many more are waiting in the wings to come on stage in the 2020s, 2030s.
