Continued from Part 1, Part 2, and Part 3.
Part 4 was unexpected. Being not really a current events site per se, Peak Stupidity bloggers had not learned of the upcoming Supreme Court cases on Affirmative Action when we started this series. However, there's a lot on the internet about it - see Supreme Court to Hear Cases Against Harvard, UNC on Affirmative Action from the Breitbart site*. We'll discuss this now in Part 4, and they'll be yet another,.. and maybe another ...
Please note that the two SCROTUS cases are about admissions to college - the 2, of course, in the headline of the article above. This is not a big case that could result in the overruling of precedent set in place 55 years back. Yes, it was unConstitutional precedent, but that doesn't seem to matter anymore. I don't think prospective non-White government and business employees have much to worry about here, as far as losing their privileges anywhere other than college admission. People seem excited about it anyway.
My favorite sites have included writing on these upcoming decisions. VDares's Washington Watcher II notes that Conservatism Inc. Focuses On How Affirmative Action Hurts Asians–Ignores Its Impact On Whites Aka Americans. In other words, even people against AA are often too afraid to state that AA is bad for White men.
I've disagreed with the illustrious Ron Unz lots, especially on the Kung Flu Stupidity. However, he has done yeoman's work over the last decade in gather statistics on, publishing nice graphics and conclusions about, and even starting court cases about, Affirmative Action cheating by Ivy League colleges for admission. Since Mr. Unz also does yeoman's work in touting his own yeomanism, one can read more from his latest article Challenging Racial Discrimination at Harvard. Mr. Unz also concentrates on the Asians (I guess it's Orientals and •Indians, so I'll use his "Asian" here) that are getting screwed. However, he does analyze the non-Jewish White Americans who are getting screwed even harder, admission-wise. That is admirable. Ron Unz most definitely does not bend to any pressure, real or imagined.
However, even regarding the narrow issue of college admissions, as compared to the whole gamut of Affirmative Action, Conservative anti-AA decisions in these cases won't mean much. I don't think it's being overly cynical seeing all the ways these woke-ass admissions people will get around any ruling. There have been workarounds for the California anti-AA ruling in the mid-1990s. Texas authorities did it by using High School grades to guarantee admission for some. They know, to be sure, that High Schools vary widely in amount of learning going on. Then, others use the term "Holistic", as in, we'll look at the big picture, for woke essays and sob stories of disadvantaged childhoods, and merit, what merit?
What if the Bakke case (Regents of the University of California v. Bakke) that I barely remember from 1978, in which a White man was screwed out of admission to Medical School at UC Davis due to quotas gets overturned? Yeah, well, supposedly there have been no quotas.
Sorry, but I'm not optimistic about anything changing drastically in college admissions, but then too, regarding the subject of Ron Unz's extensive investigation and analysis, who cares? I would never want my child to attend one of the Ivy League colleges, no matter how much merit would have him “deserving” it. Integrity is more important than money and power.
Notice who the elites that have come out of these ESTEEMED Institutions have been, those in high places in American Feral Gov’t and “Industry”. I suppose one could say we want “our” people back in there, but honestly, White/black/BLTG/Hispanic/Jewish, whatever, the people out of these Institutions have been ruining America since before I was born.
To paraphrase Bad Orange Man, they are not sending their best elites.
That was a digression, so let me wrap up by saying that these Supreme Court cases are only scratching the surface of this Feral Gov't and Big Biz administered anti-White edifice built over the last half-century. A Feral Government full of Conservatives would not be able to break it up. It would take Libertarians who realize that it's most of the unConstitutional Government itself that has to be demolished with extreme prejudice.
PS: This issue being right in his wheelhouse, Mr. Steve Sailer has one recent article so far on AA - Roland Fryer: Robots Can Replace Affirmative Action. (I'm sure they'll be more.) Though he does lament the screwing over of smart flyover-State White kids, as usual, Mr. Sailer never comes out and states that AA is simply wrong.
* ... this one picked picked because it was the first non-lefty site result from the DuckDuckGo search I did just now - number 17 result of the search for "supreme court affirmative action case". There was a Deseret New page for which I wasn't sure of the bias until I clicked to make sure. Yep, most references were to the NY Times and NPR and it was slanted as can be. Oh, and spellcheck does not know the word "Breitbart". Yeah, sure, a likely story ...

PS: Greetings, Mr. Corrupt,
The exhaust manifold flange bolts are the same on the 3.0l and the 4.0l.
I wouldn't be surprised if the exhaust manifold (to head) studs & bolts are also the same on these two engines.
Usually these sorts of things are easy to order, but for some reason the manifold studs & bolts are hard to find.

PS: Aloha,
I agree with Mr. Alarmist! Ban the skools. They are expensive, obviously detrimental and all too often dangerous. (Why would anyone send a kid to a place with metal detectors, resource officers and drug dogs? I wouldn't want to go to a place like that. Why would anyone condition a kid to that sort of environment?)
And, remember when you could get in a fist fight and there were no cops or charges (sometimes multiple felonies for a simple scuffle!*) involved. (Maybe a little detention or something would have been the punishment for us younger guys. No cops. No Jail. No record.) Just kids being kids. Let 'em blow off some steam.
I hope your splash guard order works out, Mr. Moderator. (Never heard of go-parts before. Seems they get pretty good reviews.** I hope they rock.) A week isn't so bad to wait, especially if your splash guard fits properly.
It used to be that you'd (generally) get higher quality parts if you spent a little more money. I find this (often) isn't the case anymore. The same part will sometimes cost double or more depending on where you buy it. And, unfortunately, even many high end parts that used to be made exclusively in Germany are often made in Italy, France, Turkey, Spain, and sometimes even Mexico or China. Quality control isn't what it used to be.
I too would have thought exhaust manifold bolts for a Ford Ranger would be easy to find. (Not sure what's up with that.) I think they are M8 x 1.25 but the old ones are in such poor condition that it's been a bit hard to match them up. (I think the threads might be stretched from over tightening.) I'll have better luck when I get the heads back from the machine shop. I might have to gently tap them out to clean the threads.(?) (Unless they're stripped. Then I'll have to drill them out and install helicoils. )(Should have had them today but it'll be a couple more days as one head is cracked.)

PS: Alarmist, while agreed that the schools are the problem, I would pin the problem down to the anti-bullying anti-any-fighting rules made by the all-women staff of many schools. A simple schoolyard fight will result in cops getting called and the students having some kind of black mark (on their records, not their faces). Nobody can let off any steam now. So, it builds up...

I can't help you, but at least I can relate an anecdote. Between my wife and I, the splash guard on one vehicle is toast. The dealer wants almost $500. On-line I saw $305 plus tax/shipping, but also one at $190. Granted the cheapest is not the OEM part, but then, I figure this thing may get scraped up again anyway.
The thing is, that go-parts website has no phone # ("This is due to lack of demand." Oh, BS.) There is no indication of where in the world, and I do mean the whole world, the place is. With no shipping date given, how would I place an order without knowing ANYTHING. The part could come on a slow boat from China. At least they have a chat thing, so I did that. I did refrain from using the phrase "China-made crap". The lady (well, who knows*) was nice and gave me a rough delivery time - maybe a week total, and she did answer my question asking "where are you people?". She gave me the 3 States anyway...
I don't really like to do business in this manner, but apparently people are OK with it. If it weren't for the chat feature, it'd have been a no-go. I may have even sprung for the dealer part, as they have it now, and I don't want to go too long without the part. (We had a little Ford one time, and after installing a new main belt, we went driving in the rain, and it slipped off and shredded again. Hey, I can grow new knuckles.
* They do show 4 White guys and a woman on the site, who I guess I can assume are the whole of the office staff.

I’ve commented a few times at UR and other places in response to articles about school shootings that the correct repsonse is not to ban guns, rather it is to ban th schools. The schools are at the center of every school shooting. Aside from being social pressure cookers that push young skulls full of mush to commit mass murder, schools are also the delivery system for all sorts of satanic agenda that lead our children down the path to perdition.

PS: Good afternoon, Messrs. Blanc, Alarmist & Moderator,
Yeah, "excluded" sounds conspiratorial, and I don't think that is really the case, per se. It's more like there is a set of traits, circumstances and policies that make this situation so.
Perhaps it is as Mr. Alarmist says; The people with the highest IQ are "excluded" because they see through the bullshit, challenge the dogma of "elite" professions and have difficulty conforming in such environments.(?) Or perhaps many of these high IQ people are not driven the way some of these so called "elites" are and are therefore not interested in these "elite" professions to begin with.(?) (Some people truly are content to live a nice, happy, peaceful relaxing life and have no desire to climb the proverbial ladder.)
I think an important part of the story is how the skool system actively harms intelligent children or at the very least holds them back. As you know I think the skool system is harmful to most children, especially those who are anti-authoritarians and other non-conformist types. I agree that it is best to keep children completely out of the skool system.
I guess part of the reason I linked to the Ferguson article is because I just finished reading Unz's latest Harvard piece shortly before I read your post. He really seems to hold these elite institutions and the people churned out by them in the highest of esteem, despite the enormous damage these people and their policies have done to America. I'm glad he points out that non-jewish white Americans are those most harmed by these affirmative action policies, but I also think there is a little more to the story.
In any case, it seems high IQ really is a blessing up to about 130 or so.
After that it's more of a mixed bag and in some ways even a bit of a curse.
Off topic, but does anyone know where I can order some new exhaust manifold studs & bolts for a 2000 Ford Ranger with a 3.0l engine? They've been surprisingly hard to find. (Just kidding. I'll find them somewhere.)
Happy Afternoon Everyone!

I do believe that if the Court finds against AA in higher ed admissions, there will be great pressure to go after it in employment. The Wokerati in HR aren’t quite the logic choppers that academics are, but they’ll simply adopt the dodges that the academics have developed. That said, this is the Roberts Court that we’re talking about. Never underestimate the capacity of John Roberts to p*ss on the shoes of Heritage Americans.

They aren’t “inappropriately excluded.” IQ up to 130 or so is a good indicator of conformity to societal norms of knowledge, which lines up nicely with Mr. Ferguson’s observation.
High IQ people do tend have an EQ deficit, which does tend to work against them in terms of socializing with the “right people,” but the bigger issue is that the higher IQ also have an ability to see through BS and too often call things as they see them, which is discomforting to those who conform to the dogma of their elite professions, to wit the mind numbing quantity of doctors pushing the full spectrum of COVIDiocy. The highest IQ people are appropriately excluded precisely because they are likely to challenge the accepted “wisdom” of their professions.

PS: That is an interesting post by Mr. Ferguson, Adam. The word "excluded" makes it sound like it's all purposeful, but he doesn't mean it that way - I guess he uses that term mathematically.
I haven't read the whole of it yet, but I'll keep it in a tab here. People with those very high IQs don't fit in very easily, in society and in the positions (at the beginning) that they are "excluded" from. HIs analysis seems to be of why they don't fit in.
The parts describing how some of these very bright people have a bad time due to boredom in the school system, destroying some of their potential, are sad. That's just another reason to get the kids out of it...

"splash guard". HDPE (milk jugs) are easy to melt and form. Another idea would be to make a form of the old one and fiberglass a guard then spray it with undercoating or truck bed liner. Got to be cheaper than $300. I'm assuming you mean the wheel well guard. Another idea, Likely, a guess, the guard is made of ABS. This stuff can be welded. Put patches on the old one.
BTW Ron Unz is trying his very best to blame the covid on the USA. Even links a Jew saying it's so, and we all know the Jews never lie. I suspect (((THEY))) are responsible. Unz is good at bringing to light some things but he damn sure doesn't want people to know the Jews did covid and will use every trick he can to make sure of this.
The reason the US nor China did covid is so dead simple that it's hard to ignore. If the US created a viral attack on China then what’s to stop the Chinese from retaliating with the same? Nothing. It's just like nuclear war. A stand off. Now I, some guy living in a basement, can see this, surely our defense establishment can see the same.
