Luke 2: 10-14

And the angel said unto them:

"Fear not: for, behold, I bring you good tidings of great joy, which shall be to all people. For unto you is born this day in the city of David a Saviour, which is Christ the Lord. And this shall be a sign unto you; Ye shall find the babe wrapped in swaddling clothes, lying in a manger."

And suddenly there was with the angel a multitude of the heavenly host praising God, and saying, "Glory to God in the highest, and on earth peace, good will toward men."
I don't know how anyone of any religion couldn't at least appreciate the Christmas holiday and all it entails.

Commenter usNthem suggested the Trans-Siberian Orchestra for Christmas music. I remember this band getting a lot of play some years ago but don't remember exactly when that was. It's some arena rock sound, you might call it, as they do their arrangements of the traditional Christmas carols. I went through a number of them that I was no longer that impressed with, but I like their Joy to the World.

If that's not your thing, here's Christmas music with a more traditional sound:

PS: Good afternoon everyone.

Mr. Moderator,

"Manhattan Project" is a good mid-eighties Rush song and it fit with the motif of your "Immigration M.A.D.ness" post.
I generally prefer their heavier stuff but I still enjoy some of the softer electric/synth mid-eighties era Rush...

You know, like this...

Just in case anyone would like to read it before Mr. Hail's review. (I too look forward to your review, Mr. Hail.)

PS

I'm a little late mabye - but this is still Christmas week, isn't it? - I've met quite a few relatives and happy and less happy folks on our Christmas round-trip through the south-west of Germany. - Fahr'n, fahr'n fahr'n - auf der Autobahn...

Luke 2: 10-14 in between, read by a Catholic Vikar who was so kind as to help out us protestants - a rather straightforward women in her forties during a Christmas celebration for the poor an needy at the lake - moving. and I thought to myself: What a great text this is!

So - Gaudete to all of ya - and to Mr. Mod. esp.!

PS: Thanks for the great comments this year, each and every one.

I look forward to your review post, Mr. Hail.

Mr. Smith, I just got done listening to Rush's "Manhattan Project" per your link. I'd only listened to that once or twice before, as I didn't have the "Power Windows" album. They put a lot of thought into that one (well, Neil Peart into the lyrics). That guitar/bass solo sounded good - I imagine it could go on longer in concert. Nice job of theirs with the video too.
