It's too late for yesterday, but Celebrate Columbus Day today in some way. Call up an Italian friend (I've been meaning to call the guy anyway). Put out a hit on another one. Eat some pasta. Go sailing ... but not after too eating too much Marinara sauce. Just don't give me any of that Indigenous People's BS, at least not today, please.
PS: Yeah, it was yesterday, dang it! I set an alarm even, on my phone, but it was my old phone.

PS
Meh, Columbus Day only became a thing as a sop to Italian immigrants after 11 of them were lynched in New Orleans following the mafia-style assassination of the NOLA police chief.
Why not celebrate King James day or, if we have to recognize more recent immigrants and indigines, then Dia de la Idiotez.

PS: Good morning everyone...
In fourteen hundred ninety two, King Ferdinand and Queen Isabella expelled the jews.
“Columbus’ voyage was not, as is commonly believed, funded by the deep pockets of Queen Isabella, but rather by two Jewish Conversos and another prominent Jew. Louis de Santangel and Gabriel Sanchez advanced an interest free loan of 17,000 ducats from their own pockets to help pay for the voyage, as did Don Isaac Abarbanel, rabbi and Jewish statesman,”

PS Today we celebrate Indigenous Peoples' Day because it celebrates when Indigenous People achieved the envious position as a victimized group, entitling them to massive benefits from a government that did not yet exist.
TAaB, it's a good thing the idiots in the Journalism "industry" don't know enough history to know about the trick Christopher Columbus played on his 4th voyage on the indigenous people of what's now Jamaica, mon, to save his men. See "Eclipses in History: Learn some science - it may save your ass some day."

Alarmist, I like to mention Columbus Day just to piss off the type of people that it pisses off. It's better Italians are proud of Cristobal Columbus than, say, John Gotti, so there's that ...
