Small scale Accelerationism

The term "accelerationism", or "accelerationist" for a proponent of the former, describes an idea I read often of on the web, including right here in Peak Stupidity comments. The problems that Majorie Taylor Greene elucidated well and a lot more than that even, which Peak Stupidity tries in vain to cover, are so overwhelming that many of us Conservatives reckon there's no fixing this. We've got to let it all burn down and then re-build. The sooner, the better, accelerationists figure. I can see that, as if the frog is boiled slowly, we will be the new USSR, Orwell's Oceania, or any number of terrible Totalitarian hell holes. At that point, fixing it or burning it down will be... problematic, if I may.

There's another version of this that's not so all encompassing of doom. That is the idea that we work to force the enemy, the ctrl-left, Commies, Globalists, what-have-you, to suffer the ills they have been burdening us with. Maybe they can be persuaded, not so much that the regular Americans are suffering - that's a plus to them - but that they are going to really regret what they are doing, sooner rather than later... maybe like NOW. When it comes to the existential and recently amped-up problem of the immigration invasion, this is the point of Florida's (Ron DeSantis) and Texas' (Greg Abbott) shipping of illegal aliens to northern big cities*.

As the reader can see from the image at the top, this post is actually about the specific story of those Venezuelan illegal aliens beating up a couple of cops on the street in New York City. (The story's been around, and it's been a week or more, so I won't link to it.) Is it wrong for me to say that I was happy this incident happened? So be it, but let me explain.

One might call this attitude of mine schadenfreude. Usually, though, that term implies some envy or some happiness over payback - a little instant Karma coming down.** It's not that though, for this case. I don't know anything about those particular cops.

As a Constitutionalist site, Peak Stupidity has been known not to have the best attitude about "our Men in Blue". There are exceptional County Sheriffs and decent beat cops I've met who may care more than the average about such things as actual rights, even over their pension plans. Most don't, and it takes no imagination for me to envision which side the cops are on when it comes to protests and other political action by Conservative White men. Ask the guys who were simply marching to defend a statue of the honorable Robert E. Lee from desecration in Charlottesville, Virginia 6 1/2 years back.

When it comes down to it, on the whim of their political bosses, you will see that bulked-out fat ass cop yelling "Sir!" at you and giving you orders with no respect for your rights soon enough. Were it a protest about illegal aliens trashing the neighborhood, stealing, bankrupting the local hospital, whatever, the cops will be on the side of the Regime.

Wait, though, don't they have to put up with all these ills too? To some degree, yes. However, cops have a lot more pull with their buddies and they are usually less likely to be messed with. They've got health care plans. They do pretty well, so though they may be putting up with the trashing of their neighborhoods, they've got to just finish those 20 years, and then they'll get the hell out and down to a nice area in Florida to work part time and enjoy that pension from the old taxpayers.

This latest thing isn't normally part of the deal though. Getting your asses kicked on the street? Oh, and seeing the "perps" get let go a few hours later, flipping off reporters and the system, and leaving town? How exactly does that feel? Would these 2 cops still "just follow the Chief's orders" next time Americans get out in the streets to attempt to get grievances redressed? If so, I think we need more violent Venezuelans in New York City, and cops need to get their asses kicked gooder and harder. What's it gonna take?

* And there was the most excellent stunt by Gov. DeSantis one could call the (non)welcoming in Martha's Vineyard. That was all over in a day or so, and involved only ~50 "migrants", but, in shining the light on the non-welcoming rich hypocrites, it was no small gesture.

** Yeah, I know, that's 2 different songs. (John Lennon and Willie Nelson)

PS: On your 1st point, J1234: I will watch your video later today. As for the condition of the subway station, I will see, I guess, whether you mean the construction of it, done by "Soviets" or that it's kept up well now (or is made to be easy to keep up)?

I would admit that when it comes to the bad element we have here that the USSR and present Russia didn't/don't have to deal with, yes, I imagine they have it better.

I'll write more after I watch it. I have not seen the Tucker videos about grocery shopping in Russia, etc. Somehow, I think Tucker is a little bit naive about foreign lands. I would not expect to see the prices we see here after converting the currency. The dollar is still pretty high right now, amazingly. When I went to Europe in the late 1980s, it was not the same story. I couldn't go to Russia, of course. (I wish I'd gone to see the Berlin Wall "in action". By the beginning of this century, there was just a Checkpoint Charlie museum, as far as I could see.

PS: J1234, I agree with you that cops are generally socially Conservative. I just don't think that overpowers their desire to keep their jobs and pensions, understandably so, to some degree. (Mass action prevents the firing worries - they have unions - from what I just read 3/4 of cops are in unions. OTOH, if the union is part of a bigger organization (not all of them are), then that org can stay as woke as the next one, much more than the cops who pay dues.)

I too am glad the police are not the NKVD at this point. They were vilified by the left going back to the 1960's, as the left wanted to raise hell and still come home in one piece. Of course, they had a right going so far, but the taking over of university buildings and such was too far. I suppose the police forces are an Institution that haven't been completely taken over by the Communist Long March here. As you wrote, those on the left don't want to do real work. No, they especially don't want to see reality in the ghettos and barrios. "I see nothink!!"

However - got off track here - at the present time, the left is not so down on the cops, IMO, if a Black! man didn't just die from fentanyl. OK, in general if Black! people say they are being persecuted by the cops, the left agrees, because that's the order of things. OTOH the ctrl-left had no problem with the cops in Charlottesville who arrested and held only the defenders of a statue. They sure don't seem to have a problem with the Capitol Police force and its actions 3 years ago, not even a guy who shot dead a 5' 2" woman from 10' away. Oh, wait, he was Black!, right. (If he hadn't been, I'm still not so sure they'd talk about this murder. The Insurrection! narrative is too important.)

PS: Mr. Blanc, you were the commenter I was referring to, in fact. (It's not like we have hundreds, plus this was just the other day. My memory doesn't go back but so far...)

I also have a hard time purposefully, say, voting, or something more substantial, to make things worse, as hope stays with me. However, letting it happen may be the best thing for the destroyers of this country in that they can do things - gun control when the new "Americans" are ready for it - making the taking of Political Prisoners a normality (as violations of Amend. IV at the TSA are after 20 years), etc. on their own timeline.

Having these 2 clowns in the White House and Naval Observatory*, respectively, does help keep the ridicule level up. That's a good thing. I disagree that Bai Dien can last 4 more years. I really don't think he can be propped up as cognizant through this election or Jan 20th '25.

* Ha! Yes, that's the VP's residence, but I think Cameltoe knows exactly squat about Astronomy. Maybe she sold the big reflector telescope on ebay. (It may have been a refractor, as that place goes way back, going by the name.)

PS-

"I can see that, as if the frog is boiled slowly, we will be the new USSR..."

As kind of an aside, did you happen to see this recent video from Tucker about a metro station in Moscow, Mr. Moderator? Your comment made me think of it. I believe that you and I have similarly low opinions of the USSR, both historically and ideologically, but this station was built during Stalin's regime, and (according to Tucker) is safer and in better condition than any metro he's seen in the US. This is somewhat adjacent to the police issue, but has more to do with culture, meaning there's nothing resembling a cohesive, common and cooperative culture in the US. His video will be called pro-Russia propaganda by the puritans, but they're wrong as usual...it's much more anti-postmodern America (maybe even accelerationist.)

Anyway, policing is little more than a band aid for the kind of social ills we have in the US. In fact, it's not even that. Like government and democracy, policing as a concept is morally neutral - it's as good or as corrupt as the society it takes place in. I have a sign in my yard that says we support and pray for our police, put up after the St. George riots. Our prayers for the police are prayers of thanksgiving that the cops largely haven't been the NKVD in this country up to this point, but we also pray that they don't become that at some point in the future. As the mod said, cops are (in big cities, anyway) on the side of the regime during protests, but I've found they're usually less biased in most other matters. I do wonder, however, how long that will last. Is it a question of "if" or "when" I have to take my yard sign down?

The cops are vilified by the left, not because they're the gestapo, but because they aren't adequately corrupt to take on the role of enforcer for leftist ideology. Whatever their shortcomings, they're still too attached to the Constitution, generally speaking.

Police commissioners and chiefs are being changed out by the left, but rank and file cops mostly aren't. That's because few people on the left want to do the dirty work of actually dealing with reality, or as our moderator rightly pointed out: "to suffer the ills they have been burdening us with."

PS I’ve occasionally described myself as an accelerationist. To a certain extent that is the case. I’m convinced that there’s no chance of things getting better* until they get worse. Perhaps a lot worse. Whether we should try to make things worse, in order to speed up the process, is the proper strategy, is an open question. I generally fall back on a negative, Hegelian or Taoist approach: Just let things happen. It appears that Totally Legit Joe Biden and Veep Throat Harris are about to be visited upon us again. Fine. It’s hard to imagine a pair better qualified than those two, to make things worse, in the shortest amount of time. Don’t fight it. We should just sit back and enjoy the show. And it will be a show. Yes, there will be some pain. Watching the republic that our ancestors built being dismantled will surely be unpleasant. But there’s nothing to be done for it. In the end, we might wind up with a place for ourselves. Or not. The only thing that is certain is that, although we might not win, our enemies will surely lose.

* There’s no guarantee that things will get better, regardless of what happens or doesn’t happen. We might wind up in a tyranny so tyrannical that it would make old Iosip Djugashvili shrink back in horror, whatever we do.
